Harry Potter Book Release Party!
On Monday, August 1, Newport Public Library had a party to celebrate the release of the new Harry Potter
book. 60 Harry Potter fans attended, dressed as their favorite character from the Harry Potter books, paying
an admission “fee” of one pair of New socks in memory of Dobby, the House Elf . The socks were donated to
the St. James Matthew 25 fund. Contests were held, magic wands were made, door prizes were given out and
a great time was had by all. Three lucky readers won a copy of the new book. The party was sponsored by
the Friends of Newport Library.
