Guests in the last series included US pop-soul singer Lionel Richie, punk pioneer John Lydon and Olympic hero Mo Farah, who all fielded questions from Piers delivered in his own inimitable interviewing style. Piers is certainly not afraid to ask the questions everybody would like to ask, making for compelling viewing as a host of stars open up about their intimate private lives. Piers's first guest of this new run of shows is BARRY GIBB. Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees joins Piers Morgan to look back on his fifty-year career as a songwriter and pop legend. He reflects on the untimely deaths of all three of his younger brothers - Robin, Maurice and Andy - and how he’s come to terms with being the last surviving member of the Bee Gees. Barry tells Piers how the group rose from child performers to global superstars in the wake of the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. He reveals how a childhood accident nearly killed him, what really happened when he and his future wife sneaked into Dr Who's Tardis and gives his verdict when Piers serenades him with his falsetto voice. Tales from the Coast with Robson Green Tuesday 31st January, 8pm In this new series, Robson Green travels along some of the nation’s most fascinating stretches of coastline to discover just what it is about our shoreline that continues to cast its spell. Britain has one of the most varied coastal landscapes in the world - from sweeping sands and rugged cliffs to mudflats and spits. It is home to colourful seaside towns and historic fishing villages. In the first episode, Robson visits the shores of North Devon, the location of some of his most precious childhood holidays, where he traces the origins of the British love affair with the coast. It proves to be a journey filled with drama and surprises at every turn. At Ilfracombe, he finds out how miners dug a network of tunnels through the cliffs to enable Victorian holidaymakers to access the beach and its tidal pool. Robson takes a bracing cold-water swim in it and hears about the Victorians’ passion for sea bathing. His next stop is Clovelly, one of Britain’s best-preserved fishing villages, where he unwittingly finds himself involved in a dramatic clifftop rescue mission. Finally, Robson goes back to basics on the tiny island of Lundy, where he has a scary encounter with an Atlantic grey seal and attempts to climb a 400-foot high sea cliff nicknamed the Devil’s Slide. ITV.com Week 04/05 Endeavour 28th January 3rd February 2017 Sunday 29th January, 8pm The police drama set in 1960s Oxford and following the work of one Endeavour Morse (Shaun Evans), as he makes his name as a detective constable with the Oxford City CID, concludes its fourth series. In the final episode of the current series, Harvest, a 2,000-year-old body is discovered on boggy Bramford Mere, revealing a new lead in the missing persons case of Dr Matthew Laxman (Alex Mann). Almost five years to the day since Laxman disappeared, Endeavour and DI Thursday (Roger Allam) pick up where the investigation left off. They re-interview the curious inhabitants of Bramford Village and questions immediately arise as to whether Laxman’s disappearance is connected to the upcoming Autumn Equinox, a pagan ritual to celebrate the harvest. But there are greater schemes at play, and Endeavour soon finds himself caught in a maelstrom. Inquiries into the Laxman case bring him to Bramford B, a nuclear power station that is about to launch its groundbreaking new reactor “Goldenrod” on the day of the Equinox. Endeavour’s probe into the power station is met with a stone wall of silence, but soon a shocking development at the power station plunges Oxford into catastrophic danger. Age-old secrets, dangerous technology and the unrelenting damage of unrequited love create a toxic combination, and the duo face a race against time to save Oxford. Unforgotten Thursday 2nd February, 9pm body are found locked in a suitcase in the river Lea, the duo are thrown together once more to dig up the past and uncover the mystery behind the murder. As they tackle the complicated task of trying to identify the body, their paths will cross with four seemingly unconnected people who are inextricably linked to the victim. In episode five, Cassie begins to investigate the goings on at the Brentford house and the theory that one or more of the suspects may have been abused at the gatherings that took place there. The enquiry reveals some information that allows Colin (Mark Bonnar) to come to terms with a shame that he has lived with for over 25 years. Meanwhile, Sara (Badria Timimi) is forced to confront her past in order to prove her innocence. Marion (Rosie Cavaliero) continues to push her family even further away. ITV.com The past comes back to haunt Cassie and Sunny once again as the crime drama continues its second series. DCI Cassie Stuart (Nicola Walker) and DS Sunil “Sunny” Khan (Sanjeev Bhaskar) are reunited in this six-part investigative drama. When the remains of a Week 04/05 The Halcyon 28th January 3rd February 2017 Monday 30th January, 9pm Brand new eight-part drama series which tells the story of a bustling and glamorous grand hotel. Set in London in 1940 against the backdrop of the second world war, the series shows how the life of the capital goes on, through the prism of war and the impact it has on families, relationships, politics and work across every social class. The Halcyon reveals how the conflict permeates everyone’s lives – from the affluent guests to the loyal, hardworking staff – watched from within by American journalist Joe O’Hara (Matt Ryan). In episode five, Lady Hamilton (Olivia Williams) is in the mood for adventure. The Halcyon hosts a society wedding and Emma (Hermione Corfield) must step in to organise it. But there is trouble brewing in the air. Will it reach Garland (Steven Mackintosh) and Peggy (Liz White) over in the East End? And how will staff cope when it reaches the hotel? The Voice UK Saturday 28th January, 8pm The globally successful talent show continues its sixth British series in its new home on ITV this week. Host Emma Willis is going it alone this year as the series’ unique blind auditions continue, as each music act does their best to grab the attention of this year’s quartet of star coaches. The multi-talented will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas fame has returned for his sixth stint as a coach, joined by British singing legend Sir Tom Jones and two new faces on the panel – rock band Bush’s lead singer Gavin Rossdale and Oscar-winning singer and actor Jennifer Hudson. As the competition continues, it is only The Voice that counts, and the singing hopefuls will have to truly command the stage if they want to get those infamous red chairs spinning. This series promises to be a blockbuster pitch battle as the four coaches vie to convince singers to join their teams, but who will go on to win the incredible prize of a record deal with music giants Polydor – and what talent will be discovered on tonight’s show? ITV.com 28th January 3rd February 2017 Week 04/05 Through the Keyhole Saturday 28th January, 9.30pm Comedy character Keith Lemon continues to present the fourth series of the revived classic game show. Through the Keyhole was first made famous as a breakfast television feature over thirty years ago by David Frost and Loyd Grossman, becoming a full show in its own right in 1987. The overall concept remains the same in this 21st century version of the series, as mischievous Yorkshireman Keith uses his cheeky charm in order to access the homes of the rich and famous and get a good snoop around, describing what he sees to a panel of three celebrity guests. With the help of the studio audience, the panellists must use their powers of deduction and observation to guess the famous owner of each residence as Keith is let loose amongst their most treasured possessions. On Keith’s panel this week are TV presenters Caroline Flack and Dave Berry and comedian Paddy McGuinness, but whose homes will be open to Keith’s less-than-delicate probing this time? Britain’s Best Walks with Julia Bradbury Friday 3rd February, 8pm Julia Bradbury knows her stuff when it comes to walking, having spent years wandering the length and breadth of Britain’s countryside discovering some of its most beautiful and spectacular landscapes. In this series, Julia chooses some of her favourite and most accessible family treks in search of the perfect walk which anyone can manage on a lovely morning or afternoon ramble. Julia is using all her knowledge of some of Britain’s best haunts to find walks that offer great vistas, local history, colourful characters and a perfect pub lunch or picnic along the way. ITV.com The series explores coastal, mountain, valley and river walks and includes accessible route maps, pub and picnic options and stunning aerial perspectives. So far this series, she has explored the countryside in areas as farflung as Dorset, Cheshire, Scotland and Yorkshire. This episode finds her in Devon as she reveals a hidden treasure. Julia’s favourite river walk follows the green tree canopy of water rapids along the East Lyn and Hoar Oak rivers, where they merge at stunning Watersmeet. This is a truly delicious walk, and when in Devon there is always time for a hard-earned cream tea! Week 04/05 The Cruise: Sailing the Mediterranean 28th January 3rd February 2017 Thursday 2nd February, 8.30pm Hugh Bonneville narrates the documentary series following life on board for the crew of 1,400 on the liner Royal Princess. In episode four, the ship is heading for the medieval port of Kotor in Montenegro. Executive chef David is facing a staffing crisis which is putting the ship’s galley under severe pressure. He and the team must prepare a range of speciality dining services, but being 17 staff members short, it is touch and go. On-board magicians Johnny and Trisha Hawley (pictured) have decided to revamp their show with a daring and dangerous new headline trick. The illusion begins with Trisha bound in chains in a plastic bag in a locked box and climaxes with a split-second swap of places with her co-star. But rehearsals soon bring marital tensions to boiling point. There is a crucial moment for new officer on the bridge Lauren, who must prove she has what it takes to drive one of the ship’s tender boats. After a successful docking, she finally gets to wear her stripes with pride. Rivalry among the guests surfaces as Pat and Brian Morell from Essex have a nervous wait to find out if they will retain their crown as the ship’s ‘most travelled passengers’ for the fourth week. James Martin’s French Adventure Monday 30th January - Friday 3rd February, 3pm Brand new series in which James Martin embarks on a journey to the country which inspired his love of food. He starts his odyssey in St Emilion, visiting the legendary Chateau Cheval Blanc to cook his first dish and sample a glass or two. Then he goes back to the kitchens of L’Hostellerie Plaisance, where he worked as a lad more than 30 years ago. On Tuesday, James is on the Canal du Midi. Starting in historic Carcassonne, he joins the mass of tourists taking in the sites and cooks a delicious fish stew on the banks of the canal and treats the crew to that classic French dish, moules mariniere. Wednesday’s episode finds him in Languedoc, famous for its wine and the hearty meaty dish, cassoulet. Thursday sees James travel on to Charente, in the heart of the Cognac region. Inspired by a visit to a distillery, James uses cognac for his first al fresco cook. He then follows in the footsteps of the Queen Mother and pays a visit to Chateau Venteuil, home of the de La Rochefoucauld family. In the shadow of their chateau, James meets a miller who still uses traditional methods to make award-winning brioche loaves. Finally, in the Dordogne for Friday’s episode, James makes a delicious summer pudding and goes hunting for black truffles which he then cooks with duck back home. ITV.com Week 04/05 Hell’s Kitchen * 28th January 3rd February 2017 Tuesday 31st January, 9pm Multi-award-winning British chef Gordon Ramsay continues the 16th series of his US cooking competition as more hopeful chefs gear up to take on the gruelling challenge. As the Michelin-starred super-chef puts the contestants – who all have a catering background – through their paces, only one of them will eventually emerge victorious with the offer of a head chef position at one of his renowned eateries in Las Vegas. In the second episode, entitled Crepe Grand Prix, the remaining chefs on the blue team blow off some steam with a skinny-dip in the hot tub, attracting the attention of quite a few ladies! The contestants then race in the first annual Crepe Grand Prix challenge for the chance to win a luxurious dining experience on a yacht in Santa Barbara. Later, one team struggles from the get-go during a dinner service featuring VIP guests Noureen DeWulf and Dash Mihok. Who will face the wrath of the notoriously fiery Scottish chef as he decides who has made it through to next week’s show? 2Awesome Sunday 29th January, from 1pm ITV2 continues livening up quiet Sunday afternoons with 2Awesome, the home of exciting new youth-oriented programming featuring brand new drama, comedy, reality and entertainment series. Presenters Roman Kemp and Vick Hope introduce several exciting new shows, including Guidance, Side Effects, Third Wheel and LA Story, along with online exclusives on the ITV Hub. Topical drama series Guidance uncovers the truth behind a series of scandalous photos depicting the most popular girl in school which are being circulated through all forms of social media. The drama unfolds through weekly sessions with the school's guidance counsellor Anna, who must set aside her own insecurities and work outside the box to get to know the teens and discover who is really behind the photos. In Side Effects, a teenage girl who sees much of life through musical hallucinations, attempts to survive high school, her squabbling siblings, and the mystery of her missing father. Fun dating show Third Wheel sees Hunter March and Lauren Elizabeth hosting a blind date from inside a car as they help singles get to know each other by throwing embarrassing questions and challenges at them. The daters will either win a second date or get left on the side of the street. LA Story follows a summer in the complicated love lives of a group of rich teens as former couple Skyler and Jamie reunite, sparking an intense rivalry with Jamie’s current beau. ITV.com Week 04/05 Celebrity Dinner Date 28th January 3rd February 2017 Wednesday 1st February, 8pm The dating show with a culinary theme returns with a brand new run of shows on ITVBe, kicking off with a celebrity special featuring former Apprentice candidate and Celebrity Big Brother winner James Hill. The popular entertainment series began back in 2010 on ITV, returning in its new home on ITVBe as part of the channel’s launch in 2014, where it has since cemented its place as one of the top rated programmes. Alongside dozens of dates for ordinary folk, recent celebrity specials have featured the likes of exEmmerdale star Gemma Oaten and various stars of Made in Chelsea, TOWIE and Geordie Shore. The series features witty narration from former Hollyoaks and Two Pints... actor Natalie Casey, who oversees the dating action with tongue firmly in cheek. In each episode, someone is given the chance to find true love over three meals, each cooked by a blind date in their own home. After the three dates are done, the dinner dater gets the chance to take their favourite chef and potential future beau to a swanky restaurant, leaving the other two with a night in alone and a ready meal for one. Hunky entrepreneur James is known for his way with the ladies, but will he manage to impress his chosen three as they attempt to cook and bake their way into his heart? When the dates are done and the ladies bid him farewell, which of them will he want to see for seconds? Agatha Christie’s Marple Friday 3rd February, 9pm Another chance to see Julia McKenzie in her starring role as the amateur sleuth. This episode from the most recent series of the detective drama – A Caribbean Mystery – is scripted by author, actor and comedian Charlie Higson. Miss Marple is taking a break from St Mary Mead, staying in a lavish hotel on the Caribbean island of St Honoré, but her holiday is rudely interrupted by the mysterious death of Major Palgrave (Oliver Ford Davies), who expires after an evening of exotic food and drink and a specially arranged voodoo show at the glamorous Golden Palms resort. The cause of death is initially thought to be a heart attack, but Miss Marple is convinced that the major was murdered and that other guests are in imminent danger. Her theories are not taken seriously by the local police chief, Inspector Daventry (Anele Matoti), until a hotel maid and another guest are brutally murdered. As Miss Marple pursues her own investigation, she enlists the reluctant help of the curmudgeonly business tycoon Jason Rafiel (Antony Sher). Together, they manage to unlock St Honoré’s dark secrets and unmask the killer. The cast also includes Montserrat Lombard, Daniel Rigby, Hermione Norris, MyAnna Buring, Warren Brown, Robert Webb and Charity Wakefield. ITV.com Week 04/05 When Phillip Met Prince Philip: 60 Years of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award 28th January 3rd February 2017 Wednesday 1st February, 9pm ITV3 presents another chance to see this landmark documentary, in which Phillip Schofield gets upclose and personal access to His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh during the 60th anniversary year of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Filmed over 12 months, Phillip attends celebrity galas, special receptions and intimate events, meeting the prince in royal palaces all over Britain and learning more about the awards in their diamond jubilee year. On his journey Phillip meets big celebrity names like David Walliams, Dame Judi Dench and Joanna Lumley and is able to help understand the duke and how he has become the embodiment of the awards. Phillip has privileged access to Prince Philip’s family, including his third and youngest son, Edward, Earl of Wessex and his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex as they pursue their heavy involvement in the D of E awards. Both the earl and the countess give Phillip a unique glimpse of life inside the royal family and the time and work the duke still invests in the scheme which he founded back in 1956. Prince Philip’s granddaughter-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge, talks to Olympians and Paralympians about her own D of E experience. Darts: The Masters * Saturday 28th January, 7pm and Sunday 29th January, 12.45pm and 7pm ITV4 continues its coverage of the first live tournament of 2017, the Masters at ArenaMK, Milton Keynes. The tournament, which has been shown on ITV4 since its introduction, sees the world's top 16 players face off to discover the best of the best. Previously won by Phil ‘the Power’ Taylor and James Wade, the title has been claimed by Michael van Gerwen for the past two years since the event's move to Milton Keynes. The tournament continues with four more first round games being played on Saturday ahead of the decisive final day on Sunday, which sees the quarter-finals held in the afternoon session and semi-finals and final in the climactic evening session. Jacqui Oatley presents all the action, with the help of reporter Dan Dawson, Chris Mason and Alan WarrinerLittle as pundits and Stuart Pyke and John Rawling as match commentators. Defending champion Michael van Gerwen (pictured) previously retained his Masters title with an imperious 11-6 defeat of Dave Chisnall, after surviving seven missed darts against Phil Taylor on his way to glory. The Dutchman, currently ranked number one in the world, will undoubtedly start as favourite, after a stellar 2016 in which he won six European Tour events, five Players Championships and two World series tournaments. ITV.com Week 04/05 Vera 28th January 3rd February 2017 Saturday 28th January, 8pm and Sunday 29th January, 9pm Another chance to see two episodes of the acclaimed crime drama starring Brenda Blethyn. Saturday’s episode, Castles in the Air, involves the murder in cold blood of a young physiotherapist called Lizzie Faulkner (Eva Quinn) while she enjoys a few days away at a country retreat. Initial inquiries lead Vera to local man Robert Doran (Richard Riddell) seen hunting badgers nearby, and is discovered to have some history with the victim. But the case takes another direction when it transpires that Lizzie’s weekend away was a last-minute, unwanted gift from a client called Corinne Franks (Vinette Robinson). Vera’s investigations uncover a hidden friendship, while Joe (David Leon) manages to lay to rest some demons from the past. In Sunday’s episode, Young Gods, Vera delves into the tangled past of extreme sports fanatic Gideon Frane when he plunges from a Northumberland cliff top. Forensics are quick to link hairdresser Kit (Kevin Trainor) to an anonymous letter. Kit admits to confronting Gideon days before his death but denies murdering him. Ruthie Culvert (Rebecca Benson) is a current pupil at the same private school attended by Gideon. As a witness to the crime, Vera is convinced Ruthie holds the key - but her memory is drawing blanks. Pokemon the Series: XYZ * Saturday 28th January, 12pm CITV continues to show brand new episodes of Pokemon XYZ, featuring the latest animated adventures of Ash, Pikachu and the gang. In a world inhabited by exotic monsters known as pokemon, Ash Ketchum makes it his mission to catch them all and become the world’s greatest trainer. In the latest episode, Forming a More Perfect Union, Ash and his former adversary Alain have joined forces to take down Team Flare, but the emergence of the Megalith, a mysterious and ancient rock that contains massive amounts of primal energy – and has trapped Chespie within itself – presents a threat that the two trainers cannot face alone. Fortunately, the Gym Leaders are on hand to lend assistance and their special skills. It will take all the power this band of allies and their trusty pokemon can muster to save Chespie, and with it, the world. As the two Zygarde pokemon Z-2 and Squishy look down on the battle from afar, they cannot help but be impressed by the heroes’ determination to do the right thing. Do these two mysterious pokemon hold the key that will end the destruction and put a stop to Lysandre’s plans for good?
