Hannah wanted to be in the pantomime at
the theatre. She danced at home and at school
every day.
“You’re really good!” her big brother Simon
said. “Good luck on Saturday!”
Saturday was the day of the auditions. On
Thursday something awful happened. Simon’s
bike was in the kitchen. But Hannah didn’t see
it, so she fell.
“Ow, my foot!” she shouted. “Why is your bike
in the kitchen, Simon?”
“I must clean it,” Simon said. “And it has started
to rain.”
Hannah went to see the doctor.
“She says I can’t dance – and the auditions are
on Saturday! Now I can’t go!”
“I’m sorry, Hannah,” he said. “I’ll phone the
people at the theatre and tell them what has
happened.”
