Decades of service recognised at
Capricornia Correctional Centre
Long Service and Australian National medals were among the
awards presented to QCS staff from Capricornia Correctional
Centre and around the Central Region during a ceremony at the
centre on 18 March.
QCS Commissioner Kelvin Anderson visited the centre to present
the Australian National Medal for 15 years of service to four staff,
while another seven officers received their First Clasp to the medal,
marking 25 years service.
The Australian National Medal is awarded to recognise diligent
service where an employee is required to protect life and property at
some risk to themselves.
Fifty-eight Custodial and Probation and Parole officers from Central
Region received the QCS Long Service Medal, which recognises 15
years of long and meritorious service in the Queensland corrections
system.
Ribbon Bars marking 25 years of service were awarded to a further
27 staff, while Custodial Correctional Officer (CCO) Jack Dale received
Ribbon Bars to honour his milestones of 25 and 35 years serving
Queensland corrections.
Service Dogs Agro and Jake were recognised for their contribution
to QCS with the Australian Defence Force Trackers and War Dogs
Association Canine Service Medal.
This medal is presented to Service Dogs working in a government
department, agency or commercial entity where their primary
function is the protection of federal and/or state laws.
