The advantages!
How does it work?
Udder Hair Remover PREVENTA
The udder hair remover has to be connected to a propane bottle. To obtain the right “cool” flame adjust the press-reducing
valve and the handle. Pass the torch around the udder performing an 8-movement at a distance
of about 10 – 20 cm below the
udder for about 2 – 4 seconds.
Afterwards treat the udders with
EuterGel or KerbaMint.

Mastitis is expensive!
Research results show that mastitis costs every farmer an
average amount of € 188 per cow. Considering a number of
50 cows this contributes to a financial loss of € 9400. What
exactly is responsible for these towering losses?
What exactly is responsible for these towering losses? The

Prevention is better

Remove udder hair with a
„cool“ flame
Hygienic and clean barns and cows play a decisive role in
the prevention of mastitis.
Modern practices of animal housing (e.g. in group pens)
place new requirements to prevent mastitis. The removal of
sticking up udder hair prevents manure and dirt from accumulating at the udders, as these substances contain millions
of mastitis-causing organisms. Dried particles sticking to the
udder hair cannot be removed easily, even by the use of wet
udder paper.
Preventa removes udder hair with a “cool” flame without
causing any pain to the animal. This procedure also destroys
bacteria situated in the dirt accumulated by udder hair.
When done properly the cow perceives the procedure
(approx. 2 sec.) to be pleasantly warm.
The most important thing is, that the flame keeps moving
constantly.
Removing udder hair reduces the risk of mastitis considerably; thanks to an improved hygiene milk bacterial counts
drop and milk quality rises.
Every dairy farmer, however, knows what a great expenditure of time it takes to remove udder hair with a clipping
machine. And, what is more important than this time-consuming procedure is the fact, that electric clippers don’t
eliminate bacteria and germs. Therefore it is necessary to
remove udder hair in a way that destroys all germs at the
same time.

How is a „cool“ flame
produced?
The „cool“ flame develops by burning propane with reduced
aeration. It only reaches about 300 °C, in comparison to an
average gas burner that surpasses 1000 °C by far!
