Language Learner
Students
EVERYTHING BEGINS WHEN:
•  Register your
child for the first
time in school
•  Fill out the
registration form
indicating that
your child
speaks Spanish
ELL STUDENTS
(English Language Learner)
•  They are identified as
students learning the
English language
•  By law the student needs
to be assessed annually
to know how is learning
English.
•  This assessment test is
called CELDT (California
English Language
Development Test)

demonstrated proficiency

the English Language

a quiet space to do his homework
and reading
Have books to read or consult
Always be aware
of the progress of
your child in school
Meet your Child’s teacher
and talk to him/her
Monitor the
progress of your
child in English
by checking his/
her scores in
CELDT and
STAR tests
But above all, always ask us
whenever you have a question
about your child’s progress
