To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right. We are delighted with your interest in the International Baccalaureate Programme at Rifle High School. Highly motivated students with top-level academic abilities and lofty standards of performance are obvious candidates for the IB Programme. However, since the IB Programme is intended to attract a wide variety of learners, students with grades just above average (C+) can be successful, provided they are highly self-motivated. Students who have a solid and well-rounded freshman and sophomore academic and extra-curricular background are considered excellent candidates for the program. Students who are participating in the IB Programme are encouraged to be involved in extra-curricular activities and athletics. These activities play an important role in the IB Programme. This application must be completed and returned to either your 8th Grade Counselor or the RHS Main Office. In addition to a completed application, we screen candidates for evidence of high motivation, personal management skills, work ethic, attendance, and a strong desire to participate in the Honors Program. The IB Learner Profile that is included with the application is also a telling representation of the type of student who will thrive in this program.
