Dear Residents
Councillor Le Lam
It was my great privilege to publicly recognise the
service to the City of Auburn by Councillor Le Lam who
was elected to the Council in 1991 and this year will
complete 24 years of service to the community as an
elected Councillor.
Councillor Lam served as Mayor in the 1999/2000 and
2006/2008 Mayoral Terms and in 2012 was granted
the title of Emeritus Mayor in recognition of her three
terms as Mayor of this Council.
ANZAC Centenary
Auburn City Council is about to embark upon an
ambitious program of commemorative activities to
mark the ANZAC Centenary. The program commenced
with an Art Exhibition at the Peacock Gallery on
Saturday 21 February, featuring works by 12 artists
with a local connection who explore the impacts of
World War I.
I will be pleased to host the rededication of the
Auburn ANZAC War Memorial on Saturday 28 February
2015 at Auburn’s Memorial Park, and the unveiling of
the Wall of Friendship, which recognises the special
bond of the Australian and Turkish communities. All
residents are welcome to attend.

playground is now reopened for the children
to enjoy. There is a host of new safe equipment
including swings, a 1.5 metre-high slide, a new
climbing structure and a seesaw, alongside the
original popular roundabout and swivel stick.
While children are playing, mum and dad can
catch up with friends and enjoy the Auburn
Memorial Park surroundings.
