Brain Freeze Directions Go to the Preston County Website (www.prestonboe.com) Choose Students under the Link section Choose Email @ Office 365 Sign into your email account [email protected] The following screen comes up If you do not have Office 2016 on your computer you will want to download that first. Some students with this being their first time in the email program will see the words “Install Office 2016” and you can install the program choosing these words. IF NOT you can follow the directions given in another handout. Once you have Office 2016 on your computer choose the words “OneDrive”. The following screen comes up. Choose the words Shared with me You will see the following - Brain Freeze – with your teacher’s name and grade (Middle and High School teachers will see a list of different teachers) Click on Brain Freeze The following page will come up Choose Edit in Microsoft OneNote This screen will pop up Choose OneNote 2016 and OK If you get his message, choose Yes The following screen will pop up and you will have to enter your email address again [email protected] And choose the word NEXT Next it will have you to type in your email password And choose Sign in You will notice various screens popping up and syncing similar to the graphic below: When it is finished your screen will look like this with your student name at the end Student Name ******These steps have been downloaded at school with your child, but just in case when you choose your child’s name and don’t see their “Brain Freeze” work you will do the following. Choose Content Library Choose Grade Level With your mouse “right click” so you see the following Choose the words Move of Copy…. The following page comes up Choose the + sign in front of your name Student Name The screen will look like this now Choose Class Notes Choose Copy Student Name After this screen disappears Choose the “green” back arrow Choose Student name Student Name Now you will see the folder Student Name This finishes the directions the students have completed at school. To see the assignments, the student will choose the “Grade Level Folder” this will open the following screen: Choose the day of the Brain Freeze activity that is announced and you will see assignments for every subject that you can complete. Below are the directions to allow students to write on the notebook pages. Not all assignments will require you to complete this step, some are ready for you to just start typing your answers. With this assignment, you will need to copy material from the internet. Choose the link that will bring you to the material, then choose the 3 dots The following will come up, Choose Print If you are in Edge or IE the following will come up, choose the down carrot Choose send to OneNote 16 and print at the bottom of the page. At the bottom in the task bar area you will see a blinking tab. Click on it with your mouse This screen will pop up, choose (current page) and click OK. For this sample, it is Language Arts. Student Name You will notice that the page from the internet is now in your Language Arts section. The program placed the internet document just below your assignment. You can begin typing right on the page. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact your school. Note: If you are using a personal computer from home and you have downloaded Office 2016 from your email address once you open up OneDrive/Shared with me, you can “Edit in Microsoft OneNote” this will sync the information to your desktop and now you can just use the icon on your desktop and the teacher will be able to see the student’s work.
