HEADTEACHER’S HEADLINE
Thank you all so much for supporting the School through our
events for the last few weeks. Our Open Day was extremely
successful, many new parents to the school and familiar faces
visited the school ready for new children starting in September
2017. If you know of anyone who missed coming along, please
ask them to contact the School Office as we are happy to arrange
a visit.
We also had lots of parents come along to the Puffin class
assembly this week. The children had all been working hard and it
showed with their great storytelling and big voices from confident
children.
We hope that you will continue to support us over the final weeks

of term. We have our Open Afternoon on 12 December, this will
be a special event as we are inviting you to help create some fun
th
table decorations with your child for the Christmas Lunch on 14
December and of course there are a number of Christmas
performances for you to come along and see.

THANK YOU!
Thank you all so much for your support at our Book Fair and
Children in Need events over the last few weeks. The Book Fair
raised an amazing £649.64 for us to spend on books in classrooms
and Children in Need a huge £469.61.
Highest Food Hygiene Awarded
Congratulations to the Kitchen Staff for receiving a Level 5 Food
Hygiene rating when they were recently inspected. It’s great to
know the school lunches are being prepared in a kitchen with the
highest Food Standards Agency award.
Do you have any unwanted Christmas decorations?
We are hoping to create a Festive atmosphere at the school. Do
you have any unwanted Christmas decorations such as tinsel or
baubles we could use? Please give these to your class teacher. No
glass or electrical items please.

The next class assembly is on Monday 5 December at 10.30am
for Kestrel class in Year 6. Please add the date to your diary and
come along so your children can share their learning with you.

Parents in School afternoon on Monday 12th December is
changing for Reception children (Dove, Kingfisher and
Nightingale class). This will now be on Monday 12th
December in the morning from 9am until 11am.
Year 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 will be on Monday 12th from 1.45pm
until the end of school
Please note if you have anyone different collecting your
child, they should be added to the Contacts list. Please

Christmas Performances
Year 3 Survival Visit
Year 3 had the second part of their Survival visit and headed off to
Leechpool Woods in Horsham. They had an exciting day learning
many survival skills. These included bridge building, a stretcher
challenge, shelter building, and fire building. They were even lucky
enough to see a herd of deer without scaring them away.

West Sussex Fire & Rescue came to visit Year 5 to explain the
importance of the crew and when it would be appropriate to call
them out. The children were also given the opportunity to use the
fire hose.
