Overview of program criteria:
Surgeon Attendee Expectations:
»Early practice surgeons (< 3 years) with limited minimally invasive technique exposure.
Candidates must have expressed a strong desire to incorporate MIS techniques into their
practice and make a large part of their practice.
»Have agreed to the anticipated time commitments outlined for the program
(4 months minimum).
»Ability/access to utilize Medtronic products in their hospital
»Commit to 4 months of continuous MIS learning and practice, 3 (2-day) onsite educational
visits with Faculty advisor, 4-6 conference calls with Faculty Advisor.
»Participate in a bi-weekly telephone conference to discuss cases, challenges, tips and tricks.
»Complete at least 1 case between “Courses” based on the most recent course topic prior to
progressing to the next step in training.
Sales Rep Expectations:
»Attend and actively participate in all training sessions. Each sales rep must submit all cases
completed by the attending surgeon into ACEs within one week of completion.
»Complete/obtain all needed hospital paperwork and vaccinations prior to initial
training session.
»Assist Med Ed with surgeon scheduling and logistics.
»Be committed to driving adoption of MAST® procedures learned once program concludes.
»Be committed to providing follow-up post program regarding adoption metrics and an
overall summary of their surgeon’s experience.
