This is a casual position with a zero hour contract. Each shift you
work will be a minimum of 4 hours
You are required to be available for a minimum of 3 shifts per
week, including 2 weekends during the month
Your holiday entitlement is calculated as 12.07% of hours worked,
expressed in hours.

Located in the heart of Shoreditch, Rich Mix is a charity and social enterprise that offers live music,
film, dance, theatre, comedy, spoken word and a range of creative activities for people of all ages and
all cultures. All profits go back to support our education, arts and community activities which nurture
new and local talent.
Purpose
To provide fantastic customer service to the patrons, guests and tenants of Rich Mix. Visitor Services
Assistants are the face of the venue and will be required to deliver great service across all areas of the
Visitor Services Operation including as an usher, bar staff, venue host and private hires staff.
Responsibilities

Provide exceptional levels of customer service to all visitors to Rich Mix and maintain a
friendly and welcoming atmosphere in the building.

Deal with any customer enquiries courteously and competently. Always be willing to help.

Maintain high levels of knowledge of our programme and products in order to better serve
guests to the building and promote sales.

Ensure compliance with the Rich Mix Health and Safety policy.

Carry out fire drills and emergency evacuations in line with procedure, ensuring the safety of
guests to the building at all times.

Maintain a high level of vigilance and report any security concerns to the Duty Manager.

Help to ensure all Rich Mix areas are kept clean at all times and take pride in the appearance
of the building.

Wear black clothing (unless otherwise notified) and be presentable at all times.

Be responsible for accurate use of the tills and cash handling. Sell merchandise as required.

Maintain a tidy environment by picking up rubbish and tidying displays. Carry out cleaning
duties between performances to ensure auditoria remain presentable.

Sell alcohol according to the terms of the Premises Licence.

Be respectful towards fellow staff members and deal with any disagreements in an
appropriate manner.

Required skills



Experience in a customer facing role.
Proactive and positive approach to getting things done.
Ability to use initiative.
Desirable skills




An interest in the arts.
Previous experience working within an arts organisation.
Experience in a customer service role in a café, bar or restaurant.
Experience working on events or corporate hires.
