The CNVA Sailing Club, in collaboration with the Cala Galera Marina,
Cantiere del Pardo, Pierservice and with the sponsorship of the Monte
Argentario City, are pleased to announce the:

“The GS CUP 2017, under the FIV offshore 2017 Regulation, is considered
as a shipyards event and is open to owners with all kind of Grand Soleil
boats - Cantiere del Pardo”

NOTICE OF RACE
1. ORGANIZATION COMMITTEE
CNVA ASD in collaboration with Cantiere del Pardo and Pierservice of Cala Galera.
2. LOCATION AND PROGRAM
The event will take place between the 26 to 28 of May 2017 in Cala Galera - Monte Argentario
(GR). Planed 4 race on-leeward, triangles or coastal.
Friday, May 26
Arrival, registration and completion of registration at the CNVA race office
and Cantiere del Pardo welcome desk in Cala Galera Box 54
Saturday, May 27
9.30 a.m. Briefing at the CNVA and a group photo;
12.00 a.m.1st signal.
At the end of the racing day a buffet dinner at the CNVA presenting the results of the day and photos.
Sunday, May 28
11.00 a.m.
5.00 p.m.
1st signal;
Awards.
No warning signal will be made after hour 2.00 p.m. The Race Committee reserves the possibility to
change the program due to weather conditions or other reasons.
3. REGULATIONS
•The GS CUP 2017 certificates which can be applied under the following regulations:
•- World Sailing (WS) current race regulation;
•- I.R.C. regulation;
•- O.R.C. regulation;
•- Special Regulations for Offshore Sailing race in category 4 with the additional required life raft;
•- Federal Law for Offshore Sailing and particularly note about: “One Brand of craft activities or
Shipyard” on p. 74/75 point 22 of the same law.
•- GS CUP 2017 Notice Of Race;
•- GS CUP 2017 Instructions;
•- Any amending published GS CUP 2017 Instructions.
•- Any further Communications made by the Race Committee and / or Jury of the GS CUP 2017.
In case of conflict between the aforementioned GS CUP 2017 regulations and instructions, the
modified GS CUP documentation shall prevail.
4. ADVERTISING
Advertising is permitted according to Class rules (Regulation 20 WS) Competitors will be required to
display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority within the limit set by Regulation
WS. Promotional materials of the sponsors of the event to be displayed by the competitors will be
provided by the GS CUP 2017 Race Committee.

5. ELIGIBILITY AND LICENSES
Are permitted to:
5.1
Grand Soleil boats, built by Cantiere del Pardo in possession of IRC certificate and / or ORC. These
will be divided into the categories; Race class, Grand Cruise class (vessels sailing with mainsail,
genoa, spinnaker and code.) And white sails class (boats sailing with one mainsail and genoa of any
material). Boats will be divided into groups according to their “rating” and criterion of homogeneity
taking into account the characteristics of each yacht, at the discretion of the Race Committee.
5.2
The GS CUP 2017 Race Committee, in order to allow participation of all the boats built by the
shipyard although not equipped with IRC or ORC rating certificate will assign the same, at its sole
discretion and is limited to the carrying period of the event, having a compensation compatible with
the boats already registered of the same model.
All boats must be equipped with:
• RCT insurance (minimum € 1,500,000.00) coverage.
• VHF transceiver (16 and 74) channel.
All crew members must have a FIV membership for the current year. Or at least to have a FIV
membership in category FIV PLEASURE (Euro 10.00 each.) Without the need of health certification
which also in any case recommended. The FIV member is entitled to an insurance cover for “personal
injuries.” Any foreign competitors must be in compliance with the provisions of the Federation
membership.
6. ENTRIES AND REGISTRATION
Registration duly submitted on the forms shall be presented to the Club Nautico and

incensement of 30%.
The registration fees are:
• € 300.00 for boats up to mt. 12,00 LOA.
• € 350.00 for boats over mt. 12,00 LOA.
• € 100.00 additional fee for boats who want to participate in both IRC and ORC rankings
7. SCORING
A Minimum Scoring System will be used. No discards are admitted.
8.GROUPS
In function of the number of boats that will be subscribed, the diversification models and
their Certificates, the organization committee and the yard will decide if to divide, at their sole
discretion, the fleet in groups and to indicate the Race office to dedicate these starting lines and
Specific routes.

9. GRAND SOLEIL CUP INSTRUCTIONS
They will be available at the CNVA from Friday, 26 of May 2017, hour 3.00 p.m.
10. AWARDS
1st 2nd and 3rd of each Group.
11. RESPONSIBILITY
Participants which are taking part in the GS CUP 2107 have their full and sole responsibility
and are solely responsible for the decision to participate or to continue participating in the event.
The organizers accept no liability for any damage that may occur to persons and / or objects, both
on land and in water. It’s the participants competence to decide according to their capacity, the
strength of the wind, the sea conditions, the weather conditions and all that is to be expected from
a good sailor, to decide if to go out to the sea and join the GS CUP 2017, if to continue or to dismiss.
12. HOSPITALITY
The boats participating in the event will be hosted free of charge at the Marina Cala Galera
and Porto Ercole from the 25th to 29th of May inclusive. The Race Committee will optimize the boat
mooring location according to the size and draft of the boat.
13. EVENTS
Saturday, May 27

Owner Briefing at the CNVA
After the race a buffet dinner will be served at the CNVA Where the results and photos of the
day will be presented.
Sunday, May 28
Award ceremony at the end of the racing day and a Cocktail buffet will be served at the CNVA
14. PHOTOGRAPHIC RIGHTS AND / OR TELEVISION
Entrants grant full right and permission to the Organizer to publish and / or broadcast
media through any means, any photograph or film footage of people or boats during the event,
including but not limited to, television commercials and all that they can be used for its publishing
and television advertising and anything that can be used, for either editorial or advertising purposes
or to printed information.
