XXII NORDIC CONCRETE RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM

XXII Nordic Concrete Research Symposium
XXII Nordic Concrete Research Symposium
THREE CONFERENCES IN ONE
In parallel with the XXII NCR Symposium, two other conferences are held
at the same time. These are the Eco-Crete (international symposium on
sustainability) and the 23rd Nordic Rheology Conference. Participants
will have free access to these conferences and will be able to obtain these
conference proceedings by modest price.
SOCIAL EVENTS
A reception will be arranged on Wednesday 13th, in the afternoon and
is scheduled at Reykjavik City Hall which is located in the city center of
Reykjavik. The city hall houses the offices of the mayor of Reykjavik, a
café and a large 3D map of Iceland which is very interesting to study
prior to or after touring Iceland.
The conference dinner will be held in a giant glass dome, named Perlan
(or the Pearl) on Thursday 14th. Perlan is in Reykjavik city and is
built above a geothermal spring, in which the view of the volcanic
mountains surrounding Reykjavik is clear.
On the afternoon of Friday the 15th there will be a technical visit
to The
Innovation Center Iceland where guests will attend a lab
demonstration and finally have a chance to taste Dr. Wallevik´s famous
whisky collection.
CONFERENCE PROGRAM
There will be a mixture of plenary lectures by the invited speakers and
contribution from NCF members and others. The topics will cover many
aspects of concrete with the plenary lectures representing the special
theme.

ORDER YOUR HOTEL IN TIME
Note that Iceland is very exotic and popular destination at the
moment and August is the most popular tourist month of the year.
The Reykjavik C
ultural Night will be held about one week after the
conference so we highly recommend that you make your reservation
in good time.
Each year more people have visited Iceland than the year before and
2014 will be no exception. It is better to have to cancel a booking than
have to pay a very high price at the last moment as everything may be
fully booked a few weeks before the conference.
