Day 1:
Our first day we spend the day travelling to Forster, either by your own
transport or you can use your rail pass to travel to Taree where our
coach will pick you up from the railway and drop you at motel in Forster.
Dinner tonight is a smorgasbord buffet at Danny’s Restaurant in the
Forster Bowling Club dining room at 6.30pm
After dinner you can walk next door to your motel room.
Please Note
Breakfast at 8.00am every morning in the dining room except for
Saturday, breakfast is served at 7.00am.
Day 2:
9.00am depart
Beautiful Scenery
Today your journey will begin with sightseeing of the local
Forster/Tuncurry area. We will enjoy morning tea at Tuncurry Rock Pool
while taking in the beautiful ocean & lake views of Wallis Lake and
Forster Harbour Marina. After lunch at motel dining room you will enjoy
some more sightseeing of the local area.
We tour local oyster farmer Graham Barclays’ complex to see how we
grow and harvest our lovely oysters. You will have an opportunity to
purchase oysters before returning to the motel.
Dinner tonight is a BBQ at the Forster Bowling Club
Day 3: 9.00am depart
Bulahdelah/Seal Rocks
This morning we travel north along the Lakes Way through Failford, then
down the Pacific Highway via Nabiac, Coolongolook to Bulahdelah for
morning tea in the park. We then visit the Bulahdelah Court House
Museum where you will learn about the interesting history of the area
from a local resident. They will talk about the local timber industry and
the mining on Alum Mountain. We will enjoy a sausage sizzle lunch after
which we will travel via the Lakes Way to picturesque Seal Rocks,
Pacific Palms and a visit to the Green Cathedral at Tiona Park.
Dinner tonight is at the Lakes & Oceans Hotel Forster
Day 4: 9.30am depart
Amaroo Cruise
We start our day on Forster’s most popular coastal & lake cruiser the
“Amaroo” The must do when you visit our area. Our local bottle-nose
dolphins happily interact with us and are encountered on almost every
cruise (weather permitting) in the season, whale watching is magnificent.
On return from the cruise you will enjoy a tasty buffet lunch at Danny’s
Restaurant in Forster Bowling Club.
This afternoon you have options, you can stay at motel or visit the
Stockland Shopping Centre for retail therapy or you can visit the Arts &
Craft centre near the shops.
Dinner tonight is at the Rinkside Café in the Bowling Club
Day 5: 9.00am depart
Laurieton & Port Macquarie
Travelling north today we stop at Big Brother Mountain for morning tea,
with panoramic views of the coastline. We visit Rod Pages Crystalline
pottery at Bonny Hills where you will see him demonstrate on the
potter’s wheel & he will explain how he grows the largest crystals on his
unique pottery. Lunch is a picnic at the Lake Cathie Reserve, after
which we will visit the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital & Roto
House. After driving through Port Macquarie we will visit Vickers Fudge
Factory where you can see how this delicous Fudge & old time Candy
are made.
Dinner tonight is at Roast Night at the Forster Bowling Club
Day 6: 9.00am depart
Cundletown & Gloucester
Travelling through Taree, our first stop this morning is the Cundletown
Museum which features artefacts & displays relating to the local
Manning Valley Dairy Industry. They also have a craft shop. We then will
drivel through Wingham and travel the Buckets Way via Krambach to the
charming town of Gloucester nestled under the Bucketts
Mountains, here we have lunch & an informative talk.
Our host Karen O’Brien will amaze you on her knowledge of the many
uses of herbs
Dinner tonight is at Danny’s Smorgasbord Buffet in Forster Bowling Club
Day 7: 8.00am depart
Homeward Bound
Don’t forget breakfast today is at 7.00am so we have time at Taree
railway station to book your luggage for your return trip home. We hope
you have had an enjoyable stay with us at the Forster Palms Motel and
would like you to sign our visitor’s book before leaving.
Included in your package is Temporary membership to
the Forster Bowling Club which will entitle you to the
same prices in the club as members
The club also has a Ten Pin Bowling Alley or have a go
at Bare Foot lawn bowls
