Donate Now Button Guide
I. Step by Step Instructions
1. Login to SAGE Virtual Terminal to set up the Donate Now option.
2. On the top menu click ‘Donate Now’ and then ‘Configuration’. You are now at the Donate Now
Configuration page.
3. Click on the ‘Appearance’ tab to select text, color and font.
4. Next, click on the ‘Configuration’ tab. The new settings are Tribute Service and Tribute Card Option:







Tribute service is for when the donor is giving a donation in honor or memory of someone
else.
Tribute card option is for when the donor would like the merchant to send a physical card
to the person that the donation is in tribute of.
Tribute Card Text is where you can change the verbiage of the card that will be sent.
Tribute Email Option - if you want an email sent to that person, check the "Enabled" box.
Donation Summary Email - recommended to leave enabled, so that the donor can receive a
summary of the donation(s) they have made.
Comments Option – where you can add any special instructions before you enable it.
Recurring Service - sets up any one time donation as a recurring donation if the donor has
opted into the recurring service.
5. Once you have completed the settings, click the ‘Update Configuration’ button.
6. Back at the top of the Donate Now Configuration page, click on the ‘Banner Image’ tab to browse
your computer for an image and upload it.
7. To setup the donation amounts go to the Top Menu and click on ‘Donate Now’ and then on
‘Amounts’ to display the default donation amounts.


Other amount - donor can select their own donation amount.
Add new amount - you can add a new default donation amount.
***NOTE: if no default amount is set, you must select "Other Amount - Show Option" so that the donor
can input their own amount***
8. To add the Donate Now button to your site, go back to the top menu and click on ‘Donate Now’ and
then on ‘Configuration’.
9. The first thing you will see is the Integration Code. Copy the link/code and insert it on your site as a
regular hyperlink. When the donor clicks on the link, they will be taken to the Donate Now page for
the Credit Card transaction. Here, the donor will input data and click ‘Finalize and Process

Donation’. The next screen will show whether the transaction was approved and will display a
confirmation number.
Back in the SAGE Virtual Terminal you can see the transaction that just took place. On the top
menu, click ‘Batch Management’. Click on ‘Settle Checked Transaction’ and agree to the terms and
conditions, to close the batch successfully.
To setup the donation as recurring, click on ‘Donate Now’ (top menu) and then ‘Donors’. This will
show you a list of donors within a specific date range.
To setup recurring donors go to the Top Menu, click on ‘Recurring’ and then ‘Groups’. Now you can
set up the name of the organization(s) where the donations will go.
In order to setup schedules for recurring donations such as monthly, daily, weekly (type=daily,
interval=7), on the top menu, click on ‘Recurring’ and then ‘Schedules’.
To see details of the donations, go to Donate Now, and then ‘Donors’. If you click on the ‘Recurring’
link you will make the donation recurring in the system.
Please note: Here are the instructions on how to add a Donate Now image button instead of the Donate
Now text link:
* Login to Admin section of the Club's website
* Click on Website Designer 2.0
* Click "Start Designer" button
* In the Custom Content widget, please click on Edit (pen and pencil icon - if you put the mouse cursor
over this icon it will display "edit custom content")
* Once you clicked on that icon, the editor will pop up. Click on "Add Image"
* A new window will pop up where you can add images. Please click on the button "Choose File" or
"Browse". Now you can select the image from your computer that you want to use for the Donate Now
image (if you do not have one already, kindly search Google for “Donate Now Image”)
* Now you will see the image of the Donate Now button in the editor.
* Right click on the "DONATE NOW" text and click on "Change Link"
* Under URL, select the link and copy it.
* Now you can press cancel. You will be back to the editor.
* Click on the Donate Now image and click on the "Insert Link" icon (globe and chain icon in the top
menu of the editor)
* This time, under URL there is no link. Kindly paste the link you just copied from the text.
* Press "Change" button
* Press "Save Content" (at the bottom of the editor window) - in the top right hand corner, highlighted
in green, you will get a message stating that "Custom content is saved."
* Now you can press the "Close" button (next to the "Save Content" button)
* You are back in the Designer 2.0; please click publish to show the changes on the home page
