“Colors of The Outsiders” ~ Imagery Project
In the novel, The Outsiders, author S.E. Hinton uses imagery to describe her
characters, settings, and action in the story. Your job as the student is to…
(1) Choose 7 different colors to represent an event, character trait/description, idea, scene or
other aspect of the novel (even if the color is logically inferred).
(2) RESEARCH the quote from the story that matches your color choice to include the
QUOTE AND PAGE NUMBER.
(3) ILLUSTRATE each image from the story along with its quote and page number on your
construction paper. The color name must be in each block (for Blue, write the word
“blue.”)
(4) TITLE BLOCK must include: Title of the project (“Colors of The Outsiders,” author’s
name and student’s name)
