1. Message from our CEO
It is my pleasure to welcome you to
MyMind’s 9th Annual Report for the year
ending 2015.
I am delighted to report another
successful year for MyMind, full of
growth, significant achievements and
most importantly,
our continued
commitment to providing our clients with
the best possible service.
In April, we celebrated the first and
second anniversaries of our Limerick and
Cork centres respectively.
This was followed by a celebration of our
MyMind’s ninth anniversary of providing
accessible and affordable mental health
services in the community.
Last summer, we officially opened our
new
Store
Street
centre
in
Dublin, increasing our capacity to see
clients by 40% in Dublin 1.
With our team of dedicated mental
health professionals, we are proud to be
able to meet an increased demand for
our services.
This has allowed us to have an even
bigger impact in the community, and
remain as focused as ever on our goal of
putting positive mental health within
everyone’s reach.
As well as the continued expansion of our
services, we have been working hard to
raise awareness of mental health, both in
Ireland and on a global platform.
In 2015, we teamed up with partners
such as the Irish Men’s Shed and the
Asthma Society of Ireland to promote
wellbeing for all.
We are proud to collaborate with the
National Office for Suicide Prevention in
the launch of a new national strategy to
reduce suicide, ‘Connecting for Life’, and
the HSE’s #LittleThings campaign.
In 2016, we will continue to advocate for
accessible mental health services for all.
We will continue to engage with
government agencies, the HSE, other
NGOs and partners across a variety of
sectors, in the de-stigmatisation of
mental health within our society.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to
all of our supporters, and to our ever
growing number of clients, who continue
to entrust us to be part of their journey to
mental wellbeing.
We look forward to all that 2016 has in
store and significantly, celebrating our ten
year anniversary with you all!

2. Message from our Chairperson
I am delighted to introduce the MyMind
Annual Report for 2015. I joined the
MyMind Board in 2013 and assumed the
role of Chairperson in July 2015, replacing
Eleanor Farrell who held the role from
2011 to 2015, contributing a huge
amount to the organisation during that
time.
I feel privileged to have the opportunity
to support MyMind and I look forward to
continue working with the Board to
further develop the organisation, led by
CEO Krystian Fikert, to positively impact
more lives through the facilitation and
provision of affordable, accessible mental
health services.
2015 saw a reinvigoration of the Board
which was joined by Brian Mulvhill,
Chartered Accountant and Finance
professional, Jude Farrell, strategist and
communications expert and John Travers,
strategist and medic. It saw the departure
of Eoghan Stack, CEO of the Ryan
Academy who served on the board for a
number of years. I would like to thank
both Eoghan and Eleanor for their
respective significant contributions to the
organisation.
Mental health is a subject which touches
all our lives in some form or other,
whether directly or through our family,
social or working network. MyMind
strives to provide a broader level of
access to early intervention services, thus
preventing clients from experiencing
worsening situations which are more
likely to develop if early signs of
deteriorating mental health are not
addressed.
MyMind helps people navigate and
negotiate these difficult times and has
proven to be a turning point in the lives
of many of our clients.
As MyMind Ambassador Bill Fitzgerald
reminds anyone who may be struggling
with mental health difficulties as he did,
‘You are not alone’.
In line with our goal of continuing to
deliver these services to our clients, 2015
saw a very successful year in which the
MyMind Store Street centre opened in
Dublin.
In 2015, we received continued support
from the HSE through the National Office
for
Suicide
Prevention,
Social
Entrepreneurs Ireland, the Ireland Funds,
Tusla and ESB Electric Aid, along with
donations
from
new
supporters
GlaxoSmithKline and the JP McManus
Benevolent Fund.
Building on this development, the goals
for 2016 are to continue to develop our
strong
team
of
mental
health
professionals across the country, and in
doing so reach more clients, all the while
striving to create a fully self sustainable
organisation.
The journey towards the goal of
becoming a self sustainable organisation

would not be possible without the ongoing support of our corporate partners, mental
health professionals, funders and a number of other supporters and advocates.
With that in mind, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been a
friend or supporter of MyMind, whether on a small or a large scale, for it is through this
goodwill and the common objective of accessible mental health, that we will continue to
grow and positively impact lives as an organisation.
I wish you all a healthy and happy 2016.

3. About us
3.1. Who we are
Accessible
Affordable
For everyone
MyMind’s vision
Everyone has quick and easy access to
affordable mental health services
MyMind’s purpose
To pioneer a new and sustainable model of community based and online mental health
services that are accessible and affordable to everyone.
Who we are
MyMind Centre for Mental Wellbeing was founded in 2006 as a not-for-profit community
based provider of accessible mental health care. We now have centres in Dublin, Cork and
Limerick, providing a wide range of clients with counselling and psychotherapy services.
MyMind charges our clients fees based upon their employment status, allowing the
unemployed or full time students to access our services at reduced rates. The revenue
generated from our full fee clients is reinvested into the organisation, enabling us to
provide services that are affordable to all.
It is easy for a client to self-refer to MyMind, appointments are usually made within 72
hours of a client contacting our office. Additionally, MyMind has a multidisciplinary,
multicultural team that is able to provide services in more than ten languages, enabling us
to serve the migrant population. At MyMind we believe our work addresses a huge social
need, providing proven positive outcomes for those impacted by mental health issues.
Our affordable and timely mental health services mean people have the best chance of
getting back to a positive frame of mind sooner and with lasting results. We impact the
lives of individuals and their families, their communities, and Irish society as a whole.

3.2. What we do
Face to face: MyMind is able to provide face to face
services out of four centres nationally. Our headquarters is
located in Ranelagh, Dublin 6 and we also have centres in
Store Street, Dublin 1, Cork city and Limerick city. Clients
are able to easily schedule appointments with our team of
counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists through our self-referral system. Bookings
can be made online or over the phone. MyMind provides services for individuals, couples,
children and adolescents who are looking to speak with a mental health professional. In
2015, 1,874 clients came to MyMind for an average of 7.4 sessions, and MyMind
provided a total of 13, 998 appointments.
Online: MyMind offers the option of psychological
assistance via online therapy sessions. These are delivered
via videoconferencing over the internet and can be useful
for people who are unable to come to one of our four
centres. Through online sessions, the client is able to have
regular therapy sessions from the privacy and convenience of their own home. We also
offer an exclusive, free of charge supportive consultation via e-mail, which can be used by
clients in addition to face-to-face consultations. Through this tool, clients can have some
of their doubts or questions answered before considering whether a face-to-face
consultation is right for them. In 2015, MyMind Online provided 269 appointments,
responded to 3,420 email queries and 3,709 chats.

In the workplace: At MyMind, we recognise that how
people feel in work has a big impact on their productivity
and job satisfaction. With that in mind, we developed
MyMind at Work to help employees manage some of the
emotional barriers that can prevent them from thriving in
the workplace. Through a series of talks, seminars and workshops, MyMind at Work helps
develop mental fitness. Talks are designed for a larger audience and act as an introduction
to the value of emotional wellbeing, while our seminars provide smaller groups with a
more interactive experience. Half day and full day workshops give indepth guidance to
participants on how to become more productive inside and outside of work. Our team of
experienced psychologists and psychotherapists provide employees with skills and tools
to improve their focus, productivity and overall wellbeing. MyMind at Work topics include
mindfulness, stress reduction, lifestyle changes and positive thinking. Three hundred and
forty three people participated in MyMind at Work sessions in 2015.

4.3. International exposure
Making More Health in India
In April, MyMind CEO Krystian Fikert travelled to India as part of the BoehringerIngelheim/Ashoka Making More Health initiative to identify new and better ways of
improving health globally in the future.
“In India, I saw first-hand the high levels of poverty and mental health problems that plague
the community. I was troubled to see that the mental health sector is very under-resourced
and very reactive. I was shocked with the high number of suicides having a negative impact
on society, individuals and families.”
“ I thought about how MyMind could provide early intervention services to deal
with high level of suicide among students and young people living there. I realised
that there is so much to be done in developing countries. There are a lot of
opportunities to develop a cost effective model of mental health care in India.”
Krystian Fikert
CEO
World Health Summit
In October 2015, we brought MyMind to the World Health Summit in Berlin. The WHS
mission is to bring together researchers, physicians, key government officials, and
representatives from industry - as well as from NGOs and healthcare systems all over the
world - to address the most pressing issues facing every facet of healthcare in the upcoming
decade and beyond. As a clinical psychologist and founder of MyMind, Krystian Fikert
shared his knowledge and experience of mental health in Ireland, and the story of MyMind’s
foundation and growth into a highly effective, scalable and self-sustainable model of mental
health care.
International Mental Health Leadership Conference
In October 2015, our CEO attended the International Initiative for Mental Health Leadership
(IIMHL) in Vancouver, an international collaborative that focuses on improving mental health
and addictions services.
As part of the IIMHL, Krystian represented Ireland at a leadership-focused seminar hosted
by the Mental Health Commission of Canada in Whistler entitled ‘Building the future we
want’. The workshop centred on the premise that the future of the mental health systems
and services will be largely built on collaboration across geographical and sector boundaries.

4.4. Celebrations
MyMind had much to celebrate this year with milestone anniversaries across our three
locations. We were joined by friends, partners, team members, advocates for mental health
and other very special guests that included Minister for Mental Health Kathleen Lynch TD.
MyMind Limerick celebrates its first anniversary
In April, MyMind Limerick marked its first anniversary with team members and supporters
gathering to celebrate this milestone. The Limerick-based service has expanded at a rapid
rate, providing 808 appointments since it opened its doors only last year.
MyMind Cork marks its second anniversary
In April, MyMind Cork celebrated its second year of providing fast, affordable and accessible
mental health services for the community. Demand for mental health services in the
community has seen appointments provided by the local centre grow from 1,004 in 2013 to
2,061 in 2014, which is a 97.41% growth in that time.
MyMind is nine!
During the summer of 2015, MyMind celebrated nine years of providing mental health
services to those who need them in our long term commitment to our goal of accessibility
for all.
“Since MyMind was born nine years ago, we have seen demand for our services grow
rapidly. This shows just how much of a need there is for MyMind’s model of fast and
affordable mental health services in the community.”

4.5. Growth
In June 2015, MyMind’s Dublin north centre moved location from Amiens Street to a bigger
centre on the nearby Store Street. With our team of 16 dedicated mental health
professionals, this increased our capacity to see clients by 40% in Dublin 1, in line with our
mission to put mental health within everyone’s reach.
4.6. MyMind.org re-launch!
In our mission to provide the best possible service for our clients,
2015 saw the relaunch of the MyMind website.
The new and improved website, which also enables an enhanced
mobile user experience, makes it even easier for clients to make,
manage and pay for their appointments and to find the right mental
health professional for them. The website also features the latest
news on MyMind, plus articles and information on mental health
including an expert voice from our team.
In 2015 - 83, 413 people used the MyMind website, 34, 934 of which
were from a mobile device. We had 139,846 unique page views, and
the average time of the page visit was 3 mins, 57 seconds.
4.7. Advocacy
Connecting for Life
MyMind is working with the HSE’s National Office for Suicide Prevention (NOSP) in the
implementation of a new national strategy ‘Connecting for Life’, to reduce suicide and
presentations of self-harm. The strategy reflects MyMind’s mission to improve mental
health in Ireland with a focus on early intervention as the most effective way to prevent
mental health issues such as depression, anxiety and stress from turning into severe
problems. By providing fast and easy access to services in the community, MyMind is
enabling people to access support for mental health problems early on before a problem
escalates.
Mental Health Week
MyMind was proud to have a strong and proactive presence during Mental Health Week
and in the lead up to World Mental Health Day on October 10th. During Mental Health
Week, we engaged with other mental health organisations and groups across a variety of
sectors to promote positive mental health on a global scale and challenge the stigma
surrounding mental ill health. We rolled out our own awareness campaign ‘Sometimes I
feel…’, and spoke passionately in the media about mental health and accessible services for
all.
MyMind Ltd. - ANNUAL REPORT 2015
Page 15
#LittleThings Campaign
In 2015, MyMind became a partner organisation in the NOSP’s ‘The Little Things’ campaign.
The campaign is aimed at normalising the approach to mental health difficulties, getting
people talking about their mental health and being proactive in the little things that will
have a positive impact on how we feel and how we cope.
4.8. New partnerships
The Irish Men’s Shed Association
In winter 2015, we launched a very important partnership with the Irish
Men’s Shed Association to urge men across the country to talk to
someone if they’re worried about their mental health. The partnership
came from a shared mission to improve the mental wellbeing of men
across Ireland.
We came together with one voice to urge men not to weather the storm on their own, but
to share their worries and get help if they need it.
Speaking at the launch of the partnership, MyMind CEO Krystian Fikert said, “We want to
get men talking about what’s worrying them - whether they’re feeling depressed, anxious,
lonely, or stressed - and to let them know that help is there if they need it.
“Currently, 39% of our clients are men. MyMind hopes to see a greater gender balance by
working with organisations like Men’s Sheds which encourage men to connect, reach out
and talk to those around them.”
The Asthma Society of Ireland
In October 2015, MyMind Centre for Mental Wellbeing and the Asthma
Society of Ireland (ASI) joined forces for the Dublin City Marathon.
The charities teamed up to challenge the stigma surrounding physical
and mental health and to promote wellbeing through exercise.
This joint initiative was driven by a mutual belief that everyone has the
right to physical and mental wellbeing and to enjoy life to the fullest without stigma.
The work that MyMind and the ASI do is aimed at improving lives and providing support
whenever it’s needed. Both organisations work to empower people to improve their own
wellbeing.
St Patrick’s Mental Health Services
In March 2015, MyMind forged a partnership with St Patrick’s Mental
Health Services - grown from a mutual desire to increase accessibility
to mental health services in Ireland. Both St Patrick’s and MyMind are
invested in the development of a referral network amongst mental
health care agencies where knowledge of different service offerings is
proactively shared.
MyMind Ltd. - ANNUAL REPORT 2015
Page 16
4.9. Team development
At MyMind, our number one priority is our clients.
Therefore, we work hard to nurture the best team of mental health professionals in order to
provide a high quality and accessible service for our clients.
MyMind provides Continuous Professional Development (CPD) training for our professional
team, giving them the opportunity to enhance the knowledge and skills they need to deliver
the best service to clients and the community.
CPD training
“Dublin Rape Crisis Centre was delighted to have the opportunity recently to provide training
for counsellors and psychotherapists working with MyMind so as to support them in their
work with clients who have experienced childhood sexual abuse and sexual violence in
adulthood. Two very successful training days Issues associated with Childhood Sexual Abuse
and Offering Support in the aftermath of Rape, were held at the DRCC premises for MyMind
counselling and psychotherapy staff and delivered on behalf of DRCC by Ann Kirwan.”
Jane Baird
Education Officer - Dublin Rape Crisis Centre
“I found the CPD workshops very informative and well organised. Even though they took only
one day, I have learned a lot and after, I felt more confident working with clients on covered
subjects. I can genuinely say all the information given was relevant to me. The facilitator of
the workshops was very well prepared, professional, as well as conscious of and responsive
to participants’ needs.”
Anna Nauka
Psychologist - MyMind
4.10. Our Ambassadors
In 2015, we were honoured to work
alongside MyMind Ambassadors Sarah and
Bill, to continue to promote positive mental
health and challenge the stigma around
mental health difficulties.
Sarah and Bill shared the story of their own
mental health journey, to encourage others
to talk to someone if they’re worried about
their mental wellbeing and to reassure
them that help is out there if they need it.
We want to say a heartfelt Thank You to our
Ambassadors for helping us spread the
word on positive mental health in 2015!

9. Our Volunteers
We want to thank those who gave so generously of their time and
efforts to fundraise for MyMind in 2015!
Hugh O’Donovan
In May, psychologist and author of ‘Mindful Walking’
Hugh O'Donovan set off on his epic Mindful Walk and

positive mental and physical health as well as raising
funds to help us deliver the best possible services for
our clients.
Nikki Baume
We're very proud of the wonderful Nikki Baume who
braved a very wet and windy Bank Holiday June to
raise more than €1,000 for MyMind by running in the
VHI Women’s Mini Marathon.
Dublin City Marathon runners
This year, we teamed up with the Asthma Society of
Ireland for the SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon, to
challenge the stigma surrounding physical and mental
health and to promote wellbeing through exercise. A
huge thank you to our incredible marathon runners
Billy Brennan, Sean Lambe, Paul Ryan, Robbie Ryan,
Kieran Martin, David Carter and Paul Kenny who joined
more than 14,000 runners to brave the 26 miles
marathon on the October Bank Holiday Monday to
help us do just that.

MyMind Limerick
This year has proven to be very exciting in the Limerick centre and it is lovely to reflect on
the extensive impact being made by MyMind in the Limerick community. MyMind
celebrated its second anniversary in the Hunt Museum where Mayor Michael Sheehan and
Councillor. Daniel Butler commended the work being done by MyMind in Limerick.
Numerous friends, new and old and local organisations attended to celebrate with us,
which again highlights our growing networks in the community. As always thank you to
everyone for the continued support.
This year, MyMind has been involved in many local events such as the World BBQ contest
during the Limerick RiverFest, delivering talks at the University of Limerick, at the Hospital
Secondary School and at the Samaritans.
MyMind also delivered community based seminars to reach a wider audience on the
importance of mental health and self-care.
We welcomed new therapists with new areas of speciality and experience, which again
expands our multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of the Limerick community.
MyMind in Limerick now has its own Facebook page which will detail all the exciting
projects we are going to be involved in over the next year - so make sure to give us a ‘Like’.
We really look forward to 2016 and continue to embed ourselves in the wonderful Limerick
community with our accessible and affordable service.
