Information for competitors
The Venue
Haileybury is an independent boarding and day school situated on the B1197 in
the village of Hertford Heath between Hoddesdon and Hertford and close to the
A10. The pupils will be on an exeat weekend for the period of our events which
take place in “Big School”, an elegant and refurbished 19th century functions hall.
Directions and Parking
From the south:
Travelling on the A10, exit at Hoddesdon on to the A1170 (north) and then turn
left on to the B1197 towards Hertford Heath. The Haileybury campus is on the
right just before reaching the village.
From the north:
Coming on the A10, exit at the junction to Hertford and at the next roundabout,
take the first left on to the B1197 to Hertford Heath. The Haileybury campus is on
the left at the far end of the village.
Turn into College Road or Hailey Lane and then refer to the Campus Map for the
various car parking areas and the location of “Big School”.
Eating & Drinking
There will be an interval for refreshments on both days after the 4th round of
matches but as there will be no catering facilities on site or close by, players
should bring their own food. Free tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available on
both days.
Entering the events
Complete the entry form overleaf or enter electronically and pay by bank transfer
via the “September Swiss Entry Forms” tab at www.hertsbridge.co.uk
Pairs £46* per pair, Teams £92* per team.
Half price for juniors (under 25 and who have registered their age with the EBU).
A £1 per player supplement will be applied to entries that are not paid in advance.
For a receipt acknowledgement, please enclose a stamped addressed envelope.
7 x 7 board matches and Level 4 conventions on the both days
Prizes will be awarded based on final entry numbers including to the
highest placed non-experts.
Green points in accordance with the EBU scale will be direct credited.
Random draw for 1st round. Thereafter, current round match
assignments in both the pairs and the teams.
Results will be posted promptly on the Essex and Herts county websites,
www.essexbridge.co.uk -- www.hertsbridge.co.uk
