What is a Glycolic Acid Peel?
A glycolic acid peel is a simple and controlled process which makes it
possible to remove the cells died on the surface of the skin. It is
available in concentrations varying of 20% to 70% of glycolic acid (a
derivative of the sugar cane). A qualified technician applies the glycolic
acid to a clean skin for one period of 5 to 7 minutes.. The acid is then
neutralized, and then an emollient is applied. The treatment is
beneficial for the face, neck, chest, back and the top of the hands.
The acid glycolic peel treatment is not dangerous for the skin. It is used
to gently dislodge the layer of damaged cells which cover the healthy
cells on the surface of the skin. An improvement to the appearance of
the skin is obtained thanks to a series of controlled exfoliations which do
not require the patient to stop their activities.
