Getting Started with onCampus Bulletin Board Accessing the Class Page You can access your class pages by clicking the class name from the Classes menu. Bulletin Board Provides a space to post important class content, including a welcome message, expectations, syllabus, grading rubrics, and more! Bulletin Board > Edit Mode Add content to the bulletin board or change existing content by clicking Enter Edit Mode. Bulletin Board > Layout Change the layout of the bulletin board by selecting a layout from the Change Layout dropdown in the left-hand menu. Bulletin Board > New Content Add new content to the bulletin board by clicking the content type and dragging it to the wireframe region on the right-hand side. Click and drag the channels to reorder them. Remove channels by clicking the x within the channel. Any content types that are not in use will be banked in the left-hand column. Bulletin Board > Preview/Publish When you’re done editing the layout, click Preview Page to preview how the bulletin board will look for students and parents. If you’re satisfied with the changes you’ve made, click Publish Layout Changes to continue editing, or Publish Layout & Go to Page to exit edit mode and view the bulletin board. Click Cancel to revert back to the old layout and channel order. Bulletin Board > Add New Add content by clicking + Add while in Edit Mode. Content can be published to other sections you teach by completing the Publish section. Click Save to save content. To edit the content, click the pencil icon next to the content. Bulletin Board > Available Content Types Announcements Create classroom announcements to display on the bulletin board. You can set publish and expiration dates, so that your content is always up-to-date. Audio Upload audio files that students and their parents can play or download. Max file size = 1GB. Downloads Upload files for your students or parents to download. These files can be organized into subcategories. Max file size = 1GB. Expectations Attach classroom expectations as a downloadable file, or put the text directly on the bulletin board. Events Post events to share with students and their parents. Events can be singular or recurring. Grading Rubric Attach a grading rubric as a downloadable file, or put the text directly on the bulletin board. Links Link to external websites like online textbooks or resources. News Create news stories to keep parents and students up-todate with class happenings. Photos Share photos of classroom activities with your students and their parents. RSS Reader Display an RSS feed from an external website. Bring in current news stories about the topic you teach, or use the feed to pull in blog posts from a blog. Syllabus Attach a course syllabus as a downloadable file, or put one directly on the bulletin board. Text Write a welcome message to your students or provide other classroom information in this channel. Video Upload video files that students or parents can play or download. Max file size = 1GB Bulletin Board > Import Content on the bulletin board can be reused from year to year. Click the Import Material button (located in Edit Mode) to reuse expectations, links, downloads, photos, videos, and the syllabus. You can only reuse content from classes you taught in previous years.
