to track the results from your hard work and dedication in the fitness room

further. The Neighborhood Recreation Center offers a variety of programs
such as special events, on the spot games, tournaments, arts & crafts and
physical activities. The program goal is to provide a safe, fun and supervised
alternative for youth after school. IMPORTANT! This is a drop-in program. Youth
come and go as they please.

to increase the fitness level of the whole family. Comfortable clothing and

BOOT CAMP AEROBICS - Instructor: Janet Mantilla
Join the ultimate circuit workout combining intervals of cardio drills and
muscle conditioning drills. Enjoy the variety of classes that may use jump
ropes, boxing drills, relay races and even a little healthy competition. These
high-intensity classes will help you to burn between 400-600 calories. Suitable
for all levels – but let the instructor know if this is your first time in class.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR CLASSES AT THE NEIGHBORHOOD RECREATION CENTER
Fill out a class household information card and pay the required fees at the
center. You are not enrolled into the class until you have: 1) signed the waiver
on the back of the household information card, 2) your fees have been paid,
and 3) you have received your receipt. You may also register online starting

CHEERLEADING 101 - Instructor: North Star Dance
Have you ever dreamed of being a cheerleader? This is your opportunity to
learn the basics of cheerleading: jumps, sidelines, cheers and dance moves.

Silver Mesa offers two fitness rooms. One room has a variety of strength and
resistance equipment and the second room has the latest cardiovascular
machines to help improve and maintain your overall fitness level. The cardio
room is equipped with a state of the art cardio theater as well as a sound
system to get you moving during your workout. So bring your headphones
from home for use on the cardio machines and tune into our TV’s! Users must
be members.

WORKSHOPS
BECOMING A MOM & HEALTHY HABITS This series teaches
new moms or moms with children the necessary daily requirements from
each of the food groups as well as emphasis on living active lifestyles. The
importance of eating healthy as well as planning your meals is taught through

Children may work on homework during supervised free time during the hours of
safekey but we can not enforce the completion of homework or ensure that it is
done correctly. Safekey is a recreation based program, we do not offer tutoring or
homework help. This is to ensure that children are not misadvised on homework.
SAFEKEY SUMMER PROGRAM
Day camp programs are offered at Silver Mesa Recreation Center in
conjunction with the Fun Zone program. Safekey Camps are structured
programs offered to the elementary age children grades K-5th. Camps will
offer a variety of activities and social events such as arts and crafts, fitness
activities and physical games that are facilitated by trained staff.
You must sign your child in and out daily. The person who is scheduled to pick up your
child must be listed on the participation form and they must show proper identification.
Every child must have a new Safekey participation form on file for the 2016-2017
school year.
Camp registration requires a City of North Las Vegas Safekey Participation
form accompanied by a Summer Camp Registration Fee of $25.00 per
child. This registration fee holds a child’s camp spot for the entire summer
regardless of when the child(ren) starts attending. It is imperative that every
child has a participation form for camp on file at the camp site. Children
already participating in City of North Las Vegas AM or PM Safekey are still
required to register for camp services completely. No refunds or credits will
be given under any circumstances
Children are encouraged to wear closed toed athletic shoes daily. Flip flops and
sandals are not advised for indoor or outdoor active play.
Payment is required before or on the day that services are rendered.
A $10 late pick-up fee is assessed for every 10-minute increment the child stays past
the scheduled program time, beginning at 6:01 p.m. The late fee is due at the time of
pick up or before the participant returns to the program.
Parents must sign child(ren) in and out daily and the person who is scheduled
to pick up the child(ren) must be listed on the camp participation form.
Emergency contacts must present proper identification upon request before
a child in the program is released.

Softball at Cheyenne Sports Complex is back!
Experience the newly refurbished fields at the Cheyenne Sports Complex – still
the best value in Clark County. Each season consists of 14 doubleheaders (7

This is a LIGHTED golf course
The City of North Las Vegas Par 3 Golf Park operates a 9-hole par three golf
course and an 18-hole professional disc golf course, 7 days a week that offers
the best golf value in the Las Vegas area. Open year round, the both courses can
be enjoyed by golfers of all ages and abilities. It is especially user friendly for
seniors and beginners. The length for the Par 3 ball golf is not intimidating, there
are no artificial hazards, and the small greens present a challenge to the more
accomplished players. The professionally designed disc golf course offers the
challenges that every disc golfer wants.

GOLF LESSONS
The course is well maintained and offers gently rolling terrain with many mature
trees and a great view of the Las Vegas Valley. The course was the first lighted
course in Nevada and golfers can tee off as late as 4:30 pm during the Fall Season
and 8:30 pm during the Summer months. There is a small coffee shop and pro
shop located in the clubhouse, featuring top of the line ball and disc golf products.

The City of North Las Vegas is proud to offer golf lessons for beginner to
intermediate golfers. Classes are held once a week, for 4 weeks. Beginner
classes are $35.00 and meet for 60 minutes and intermediate classes are $40.00
and meet for 90 minutes. Private lessons are now available at various times on
weekdays, M-F. These are non-group lessons for all ages 6+ with (1) instructor
to (1) student instruction. The lessons are for a 4 week period, at 60 minutes in
length per week for $50.00 in total. Clubs are available at no additional charge for
participant use during lesson time.

STICKS FOR KIDS: Golf is an excellent forum to introduce youth to physical
activity, to increase youth’s environmental awareness and to provide an
opportunity to learn a lifetime sport. The Sticks for Kids program provides as many
children as possible with a set of clubs to use while learning to play the game
of golf. The Par 3 Golf Course is proud to offer the Sticks for Kids clubs that are
available for use at no cost. See the pro shop staff for more information.
SPECIAL PROGRAMS: Par 3 golf course is a Boy Scouts Merit Badge Cub Scouts Loop & Pin Certified Location. Please call and book an individual tee
time for a trouper or group time for an entire troop. Par 3 encourages parent
participation or supervision while troopers are fulfilling their requirements to
obtain their badge or loop & pin.
EDGE is a curriculum-based program geared toward educating youth on Disc
Golf and the sport as a whole. The Educational Disc Golf Experience will run in
conjunction with local schools and recreation centers during the winter, spring
and summer months.

TOURNAMENTS: The Par 3 golf course hosts multiple tournaments
throughout the year. Tournaments are held internally, through leagues or the
course may also be reserved for private use. Fees may apply. All tournaments are
open to the general public, unless it is a private event. Contact our office today for

Aliante Golf Club is operated by Troon Golf LLC for the City of North Las Vegas.
*Preferred North Las Vegas resident rates are offered to North Las Vegas
residents at Aliante Golf Club. Proof of North Las Vegas residency required to
receive resident rates (driver’s license and/or current utility bill required).
LEAGUES: The Par 3 golf course is looking forward to introducing formalized
leagues for men, women and youth ages 6-17 in support of the Sticks for Kids
program. These leagues will meet once a week. Golfers of all ages and abilities
will be welcomed to join. As additional information becomes available; dates, fees
and promotional information will be posted in the Pro Shop.
Other amenities at Aliante Golf Club include the 3100 Grille. The Grille boasts
spectacular mountain views and offers an event pavilion that is perfect for
special occasions, birthdays, anniversaries and weddings.

The Par 3 golf course Pro Shop has both ball golf and disc golf products for sale.
We carry full sets of clubs, wedges, putters, gloves and balls for a golfer’s needs.
Also we carry the latest Disc Golf disc and products.

The Practice Facility has a natural grass hitting area, large putting green, and
short game area, complete with practice bunker. Proper golf attire is required

LARGE EVENT-MULTI DAY USE: These reservations are ideal for family
reunions, weddings, company picnics, school functions, or other larger events
involving more than 100 people. These reservations must be made at least 30 days
in advance depending on size and scope of the event. Fees start at $100 per hour
per area with a 4-hour minimum. . A refundable cleaning/damage deposit will be
determined upon application submission and review.

CANCELLATION POLICY AND REFUNDS: Any changes to your
reservation must be made to this office no less than 14 days prior to the
reservation date to receive any form of refund. A refund of 50% will be issued
if event is cancelled in person or in writing at least 14 days prior to reservation
date (30 days prior for open space rentals). Refunds will only be made when
proper cancellation procedures are followed. Refunds may take up to 4-6 weeks
to be processed. The City of North Las Vegas will refund if the event is cancelled
by our department for the full amount less any costs directly incurred by the
department. A $25.00 fee will be assessed to the issuer for all checks returned to
the department for insufficient funds.

Shelters are ideal for family
reunions, company picnics, HOA meetings, wedding receptions and other events.
Reservations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis and must be made a

time and range from $50-$100 per hour (holidays are additional). Alcohol may be

COMMUNITY GARDEN: The Community Garden offers sixty-two, 5’ x 13’
personal gardening plots that are available for reservations on an annual basis.
Applications for the Community Garden are available online or in person at the
Craig Ranch office. The annual fee is $150 per plot and includes water usage.
FARMERS MARKET: On the Ranch Farmers and Artisan Market is open
EVERY SUNDAY (rain, shine & holidays) inside Craig Ranch Regional Park. Our
summer hours are 8:00am-1:00pm through Sep. Fall hours 9:00am-2:00pm. Come
out and get your farm fresh organic and conventionally grown produce and

YOUTH LEARN TO SWIM LEVEL 2 / Sea Turtles
Ages 6 – 14 years old
Class Description: This class gives participants success with fundamental skills.
Students will learn to enter and exit water by stepping or jumping from the side,

Class Description: This class will build on the skills in Sea Turtles through additional
guided practice. Students will learn to enter water by jumping from side, headfirst

breathing, survival float, tread water, flutter, scissor, dolphin, breaststroke, front
crawl, elementary backstroke.

Class Description: This class will help develop confidence in the skills learned

Diving is one of the most popular Olympic sports and divers possess many of
the same characteristics as gymnasts and dancers including strength, flexibility,
kinesthetic judgment and air awareness. Participants will learn the basics of
springboard diving including the approach or hurdle, jumps, dives, somersaults,
twists and correct water entry. Dives will be taught as forward, back, reverse
and inward dives in the straight, pike or tuck positions. Divers will participate in
friendly diving competitions. Participants must be at least 6 years of age and able
to swim 25 yards on their front.

SUMMER BEACH BASH AT SILVER MESA POOL
The American Red Cross Junior Lifeguarding Course will be taught in this
program and junior guards will also have the opportunity to shadow guards
during open swim hours at the CNLV pools. This course prepares participants
with a foundation of knowledge, attitudes and skills for becoming a lifeguard in the
future. Participants will learn techniques and build stamina during this program
but are not required to perfectly execute skills. The junior guard program does
not give participants their certification in first aid, CPR or AED or as a lifeguard.
Participants should be ages 11-14 years old and be able to swim 25 yards front
crawl, 25 yards breaststroke, tread water for one minute, swim on back 25yd
and swim 10 feet underwater. This course involves both in water and classroom
sessions at Walker and Silver Mesa Pools.

Schools out and it’s time to head to the pool for some fun in the sun. During open
swim hours, lifeguards will lead participants in water games and award prizes to
participants while the DJ spins tunes.

Synchronized swimming is a form of swimming, dance and gymnastics, with
swimmers performing a synchronized routine of dance and gymnastic moves
accompanied by music. In this recreational program, participants will increase
their flexibility, strength and swimming ability. Participants will learn the basics of
sculling and eggbeater kick and synchro figures such as ballet legs, cranes, and
layouts. Synchronized swimmers will also have the opportunity to participate in
a competition and perform in the All City Show. Participants must be at least 6
years of age and able to swim 25 yards on their front and back. Synchro classes
run for 4 weeks beginning June 12, 2017.

SPECIAL EVENTS
Swimmers must have completed and passed the Level 4 swim class. Swimmers
must be able to swim 25 yards and demonstrate proficiency in the following
strokes: Front Crawl, Back Crawl and Breast Stroke. Fee includes all meets in
Summer 2017 and a T-shirt. Swim Team runs for 7 weeks beginning June 12, 2017.
