“The Star Newsletter”
October is a very special time for the Lois Wagner Memorial Library. This
month signifies the beginning of our library—one hundred and three years
ago! Since 1912 Richmond’s public library has been faithfully serving our
community. “Happy Birthday to us!”

The Friends of the Lois Wagner Memorial Library are hosting an October Book Sale
called “Book-Toberfest.” This fall book sale will feature gently used books and materials
at VERY reasonable prices! Please check our October calendar for dates and times. All
proceeds from the Friends “Book-Toberfest” benefit the library.
The Library Staff & Friends of the Library are sponsoring a scarecrow in the City of
Richmond’s 3rd Annual Scarecrow Contest, organized by the Richmond Area Chamber of
Commerce. Our Charlie Brown “Great Pumpkin” scarecrow is located by St. Augustine
Catholic School. You can cast your vote for our scarecrow at Laser Mark-It, First State
Bank or via the Chamber’s website: www.richmondcoc.org
The last date to vote is October 28, 2015.

Patrons and Staff wished our Systems
Manager, Walt Morgan goodbye in
September. Walt left the Lois Wagner

Walt’s computer knowledge...
and sense of humor,
is greatly missed!
“Good Luck, Walt!”
