thechildrenoftheState,makingitamisdemeanortocontributetothedelinquencyofachild;laws
fortheimprovedcareofdefectivechildren;also,theJuvenileCourtfortheconservationofwayward
boysandgirls;thebettercareoftheinsane,thedeaf,thedumb[unabletospeak],theblind;the
curfewbelltokeepchildrenoffthestreetsatnight;raisingtheageofconsentforgirls;improvingthe
reformatoriesandprisonsoftheState;improvingthehospitalserviceoftheState;improvingthe
sanitarylaws,affectingthehealthofthehomesoftheState.Their[women’s]interestinthepublic
healthisamatterofgreatimportance.Aboveall,thereresultedlawsforimprovingtheschoolsystem.
