Shakespeare’s hilarious and heart-breaking whirlwind comedy
opens on the shores of IIIyria, where twins Viola & Sebastian
have been separated during a shipwreck, forced to fend for
themselves in a strange land.
Directed by the award-winning Jo Davies, this intricate story of
mistaken identities and unrequited love will be full of music
and madness. Folk musician Kate Young and lap-tap guitarist
Joe Gravil make their Royal Exchange debuts performing live
music as part of a cast of 14.
Faith Omole and Mina Anwar return to the Exchange as Viola
& Maria. Award-winning Manchester-based transgender artist
and activist Kate O’Donnell makes her Royal Exchange debut
in the role of Feste. Kevin Harvey, Anthony Calf & Kate
Kennedy will play Orsino, Malvolio & Olivia (all pictured l-r).
The cast is completed by Aaron Anthony, Simon Armstrong, Harry
Attwell, Daniel Francis-Swaby, Tarek Merchant and Jill Myers.
