REPORT:
Inspected three rolls of linoleum flooring. There were no identifying numbers, model numbers or serial numbers on the linoleum rolls. A
copy of the delivery receipt and invoice were not available for this inspection.
The listed contact, Travis, was not available to be present during this inspection. On the phone prior to the inspection, Travis commented
that the shippers' representative, Teresa of Georgia Carpet Industries, had told him that the three rolls would be replaced. He further stated
that the linoleum rolls were delivered in a pickup truck and that it took five to six school employees to accomplish the unloading. He said
the rolls were very dirty and obviously damaged to some extent. The balance of the shipment (glue, molding, pads, etc.) was received in
good condition.
The three linoleum rolls were inspected in the Magnum High School Technical Building, approximately 100 feet from the delivery point.
Present for this inspection were Roy Beale - Mangum ISD employee and Gary Balch - Inspector. There was no forklift or pallet jack at this
location.
The only packaging on each roll of linoleum is a layer of plastic wrapping. The largest roll had a layer of paper on top of the plastic. It was
removed by the consignee while checking the damage. The packaging paper was torn and dirty. Without the benefit of identifying numbers,
the linoleum rolls will be referred to as Roll One, Roll Two and Roll Three in this report.
Roll Number One is the largest of the three rolls. An inspection of Roll One revealed two areas of impact, along with several random
scratches to the surface of the linoleum. Near the center of this roll, there is a large puncture hole that goes through only one layer of
linoleum. The more severely impacted area has been penetrated through three layers of the linoleum. Each hole measures approximately
two inches square. This roll was unrolled to a length of ten feet to ensure the depth of the puncture. It is estimated that ten feet on Roll One
would have to be removed, to clear the damaged area.

An inspection of Roll Two revealed a smaller roll of linoleum, covered with a plastic wrap. The wrap is torn in random multiple areas and it
is very dirty, covered in dirt and grime. While this roll is dirty, the damage is limited to minor and random abrasions to the exposed linoleum
surface on only the outer layer. It was not necessary to unroll Roll Two to assess the damage. It is estimated that one layer, or
approximately two feet would have to be removed to clear the damaged area.
An inspection of Roll Three revealed another smaller roll of linoleum, covered with a plastic wrap. Like Roll Two, the wrap is torn in random
multiple areas and it is very filthy as well. Roll Number Three has severe damage to one end. It appears the end of the roll has been
dragged across an abrasive surface. The damage is confined to the edge of the roll. It appears to have ruined the edge of the linoleum for
eight layers. It is estimated that approximately twenty feet would have to be removed to clear the damaged area.
Mangum ISD has been told they will be receiving replacement rolls. The estimated costs of trimming the linoleum to a useable length or the
salvage value of the linoleum are unknown at the time of this inspection.
