Big Idea = To discover our local, national, and global surroundings in order to
recognize and explain similarities and differences between places and people
Area of Interaction = Human Ingenuity
Today we are on our 2nd day of the Physical Geography Map project. By the end
of today, we should have all of the Rivers, Mountains, and Lakes identified on our
maps. The Elevation Key and the coloring of the map (according to elevation) is
our last challenge before the weekend. Go Friday!

Big Idea = People around the world have similar, but varying
lifestyles, foods, and ways of life.
Area of Interaction (AOI) = Human Ingenuity
Today we are on our 3rd day of the Physical Geography Map
project. By the end of today, we should have all of the Rivers,
Mountains, and Lakes identified on our maps and colored
according to your Key.

Essential Question (EQ) = How does ingenuity help to adapt to different
geographic features? ________________________
Big Idea = Different regions of the world have a variety of assets to
offer human kind and civilization
Area of Interaction (AOI) = Human Ingenuity
Today we are on our 4th day of the Physical Geography Map
project. By the end of today, a completed copy needs to be
turned in. This is the last day we are working on this map as a
class. Carpe Diem (Seize the Day) because tomorrow is not
guaranteed to anyone! (Finish your map is what it means)
Scarcity = Noun - An insufficient amount or supply; shortage
Circumference = the distance around a circle
Diminish = to become less, smaller, or decrease
Foresight = The ability to imagine what will happen in the future

Area of Interaction = Human Ingenuity and adapting to different
geographical features throughout the world
MYP Objectives = Recognize and explain some similarities and
differences between regions of the United States
Knoll = a small grassy hill or mound
Banish = forced to leave a country or place; exile
Defiance = open resistance to authority or government
Today we are starting our 3rd map of the United States and
we will be working on this until the end of the week. The
directions are posted on the website under the heading “US
Cities Map Instructions.”
At the end of this first unit, we should have a good idea of
the location, region, and climate of each of our 50 states.
Major cities, rivers, and mountains will be learned this week,
and tested for, next week.

regions in the US that you will need to know.
