Pastiche of the Balcony Scene from Romeo and Juliet

Pastiche of the Balcony Scene from Romeo and Juliet (Shakespeare) .
... written in the Edgar Allan Poe’s Gothic style
Once upon a midnight dreary, I was creeping through the thiekness and darkness of the ferns,
surrounded by crawling shadows. Suddenly, I saw a gleam far away in the dark ? It seemed to
be the end of the orchad. Or the begginning of paradise. Abslotuley not a paradise that was
standing here : the Capuletor’s Manor, only this and nothing more. While I heard a raven’s
shriek, she appeared on the balcony. Her long hair floated in the wind, her pale skin reflected the
moon, her eyes were strangely empty, as she had waited for me for a long time. A bleak and
deep voice started to grow louder and louder, hers : « Oh Romeo, Romeo why are you
Romeo ? » As I whispered « oh dark angel, that vold beauty went away on the balcony as if
someone had called her. I followed this elating perfume, although my soul was filled with fright
and love.
« Oh Romeo, Romeo why are you Romeo ? » Her crual voice brought me back to reality,
but which one ? I climbed that wall that used to be unreachable and discovered her skeletal back.
I wished I could have held her in my arms and nothing more. Oh, I wished I could have smelt
her smoooth skin but nevermore. However, the freezing stone I hit made me fall to where I
belong.
« Oh Romeo, Romeo why are you Romeo ? » In the depth of despair, that hopeless voice gave
me strength to crawl although my knees and elbows were drawing blood stains on the floor.
There it was, a laying form in the darkness, that I cherrished in secret.
« Oh Romeo, Romeo why are you Romeo ? » There she appeared, and bent down over the
dislocated form. I contemplated my lost living love, and the smell I worshiped so much before,
and that wouldn’t be taken away from me, nevermore. She turn back to me, her eyes filled with
a hellish fire.
« Oh Romeo, Romeo why are you Romeo ? »
