Course Descriptions:
OSHA- 10 Hour Construction Industry Outreach Program
The OSHA 10 hour training will cover the basic construction related hazards
including: the focus four: (Fall protection, Electrical, Struck by and Caught
in/between.) Students will be taught to recognize potential construction hazards and
how to abate these dangerous situations. This class could be the most important class
you ever take. It could SAVE YOUR LIFE. Successful completers will receive an
OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety and Health Certification Card.
Book: Will be provided and returned to instructor, no additional cost.
Solar Thermal Systems
Learn how to capture the sun’s energy and turn it into hot water as well as a hot
career. This course teaches the background, essential theory, principles and future of
“Solar Thermal Systems.”
Topics covered are: solar fundamentals, solar water heating systems and components,
systems installation, check-out and commissioning procedures, troubleshooting and
repair, solar pool heating systems, and code and safety issues.

Basic Electricity for Photovoltaic Installers
This course teaches the fundamental theories of DC and AC circuits with emphasis on
circuit operation and troubleshooting as applied to photovoltaic systems.
Topics covered include: electric components, Ohm’s law, Power law, series DC
circuits, electromagnetic devices and DC test instruments, AC voltage theory,
inductors, capacitors and transformers.

This course is a pre-requisite for Solar PV Panel Installation.
Solar Photovoltaic Panel Installation
Learn how photovoltaic (PV) systems operate, how to determine the size of a PV
system needed for a certain application, and how to install and connect the PV system
to the electrical grid. This hands-on course prepares you to become a photovoltaic
systems installer.
