February 2017 Newsletter - Cecil and Lisa Paxton Ministries

February 2017
Dear Partners and Friends
As the month of February begins I am presently ministering in England and Ireland in churches, colleges
and conferences and will not be returning to the US
until the middle of the month. This last year we saw
lots of salvations and healings with many different
types of personal ministry. I believe even more is
happening this year which is fruit to your account as
lives are changing in Christ Jesus!
Overseas Ministry:
When we minister overseas for about a month our
expenses are normally around $5,000.00. For those of
you who would like to be involved in sowing into the
lives of others in these countries, you can designate
your giving towards Overseas Ministry. Thank You
for your generosity!
Live Streaming:
February 18th, Saturday morning, at 10:00 a.m.
Mountain Time, we are conducting our first ministry
session over the internet through live streaming. This
session is also a time for us to test our equipment
assuring it will function perfectly for all future sessions. This will not only be a time of teaching but
will include interaction as you will be able to ask
questions that I will be able to respond back to you
even in prayer. I remember a meeting with live
streaming where the person listening was in pain so I
stopped teaching and released the life of Christ and
the problem and pain began immediately to leave
their body as they were being healed.
Building Update:
We are making good progress towards paying off the
building soon and we want to thank all our friends
and partners for your continued generosity in this
important ministry endeavor.
Devotional Teaching: Freedom In Christ
In this life, experiencing freedom from the issues of
life that would enslave you is found in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 5:1 tells us to stand fast therefore in the
liberty by which Christ has made you free, and do not
be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. This is
something that you are going to have to continually
do to live free in the freedom provided in Christ Jesus
while you are in a physical body on this planet until
you go to heaven!
Paul says that it was for freedom that Christ set us
free. As Christians, we need to establish an identity
of freedom to the place that our initial and our continual way of relating to challenging issues of life is “I
am free.” Jesus set me free and for this reason I refuse to relate to the problem like an unbeliever
would. An unbeliever owns their problems and establishes an identity in the problems that dominate
their heart. They do not have the presence of God on
the inside of them that has changed them to a new
creation in Christ Jesus.
2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV
Therefore if anyone is in Christ Jesus he is a new
creation; old things have passed away; behold all
things have become new.
As Christians, we identify with freedom found in
Christ Jesus. If we take hold of our problems according to what we believe about them they will have a
hold on us. We become enslaved to the problem
when truth is only found in the problem.
Galatians 5:1 tells us that we are not to be subject to a
yoke of slavery again because in Christ we are free.
In other words, do not live life like a slave where
life’s problems constantly dominate you to the place
that it seems like bad is all there ever is in life. Good
always seems to elude you. Good never seems like it
belongs to you.
Romans 6:11
Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead in-
deed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
One translation says, “consider yourselves dead to sin”
and another translation uses the term “be constantly
counting.” This word ”reckon” is how you put things
together in your mind. We are to reckon ourselves
dead to sin because we are to be alive to God in Christ
Jesus our Lord. If you can relate to Jesus as your Lord,
then you understand Lordship. Jesus’ ways get his
results. They work because the results are good, really
good. You can reckon yourself dead to sin if you trust
Jesus more than you trust in yourself and in the judgements of your own heart. When you reckon yourself
dead to sin, you are choosing Jesus over yourself.
For Christians this is a way of life for us. This is something we continually do in living in freedom while in a
physical body on this planet. In heaven, everything
will be different! While living on this planet there is
always the possibility of challenges or temptations but
you can prepare your heart in how you are going to
respond if you have discovered that there is life in
Christ that dwells on the inside of you. When we yield
to Jesus we connect to the kingdom life of Christ that
dwells on the inside of us. When we yield to self, then
we are living in our own understanding.
Proverbs 3:5 NKJV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on
your own understanding:
Our own understanding is within our heart because we
established wrong beliefs by the judgements of our
own heart instead of truth being found in Christ Jesus.
You see, it may be a fact that there is a problem but as
Christians we find truth in Christ Jesus not the problem.
As an example, when we are challenged with an issue
of sin, if we understand that all sin belongs to Jesus,
that at the cross he took our sin and gave us his righteousness, then we refuse to own sin as belonging to
us. If we do not, our eyes will be off of Jesus and on
ourselves. The answer to all life’s problems is found in
looking to Jesus who is the author and finisher of our
faith. As Christians, we find our life in Christ as our
mind is renewed to an identity of freedom in Him.
We do not allow sin to reign like a king through our
body by obeying it’s lust and cravings. If you do not
yield correctly, you will empower sin!
Romans 6: 14 For sin shall not have dominion over
you, for you are not under law but under grace.
Sin does not have the power to have dominion over
you unless you choose self over Jesus and empower
it. You are not to be a slave to it any longer as we
are to be living in the freedom of God found in
Christ Jesus. You see we are not under the law, not
slaves, but under grace, the enabling power of God,
freely given through Christ Jesus.
Romans 8:2-4 NKJV
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has
made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For
what the law could not do in that it was weak
through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son
in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He
condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do
not walk according the flesh but according to the
Spirit.
God’s love is so great towards us that He gave us
Jesus Christ to become our life.
