Thomas - Good morning. Our group has chosen to talk to you today

Thomas - Good morning. Our group has chosen to talk to you today
about a topic that has really interested us in RE lessons this year so far
– the Beatitudes and our Gifts and Talents. We hope that this
presentation will tell you how we try to use our God-given gifts and
talents in the service of others to please God. We hope you find it
interesting.
Harriet – God gave me the talent of dance. My ability to dance has
developed because I have never given up. God gave me my talent so
that I can use it in a way to please others.
Daniel – the talent that I am most grateful to God for giving me is my
tennis ability. I am grateful for this talent because I can use it to spread
joy into the hearts of my family and friends.
Dara – God has given me many gifts and talents that I should use in a
way to please God. Following the Beatitudes helps me to do kind
things. One Beatitude that really stands out for me is ‘Blessed are those
who mourn’ which, to me, means blessed are those who bring peace to
the world and to their friends and family.
Sophie – I wrote a prayer about how we should use our gifts and
talents which I will now read to you…
Isabel – God gave use many gifts and talents. We need to use them in a
way that pleases God. Thank you for listening to our presentation.
Thank you.
Harry – Good morning everybody. We wanted to share with you this
morning what we have learnt about the season of Advent. We have
enjoyed learning more about this special time of year and thought that
this is an appropriate time to tell you about it.
Amelia – The word ‘Advent’ comes from the Latin word ‘adventus’
meaning ‘coming’. During Advent we prepare for two things – the birth
of Jesus and for His second coming.
Sammy – This year, the season of Advent began on 27th November and
it will end on December 24th, Christmas Eve. Advent starts a new
Church year and the Priest wears purple vestments to mark this special
time of the year.
Ellie – the Advent wreath is made out of evergreen leaves, which
represent God having no beginning and no end. On the wreath there
are five candles and one is lit on each Sunday leading up to Christmas.
Evie – The five candles on the Advent wreath each represent
something different. The first candle lit is a purple candle which
represents Hope. Lit next is another purple candle, representing Peace.
On the Sunday after that, a pink candle is lit which represents Joy. Lit
next is the last purple candle which represents Love. The final candle is
lit on Christmas Day. This is a white candle which represents Jesus
Christ, his purity and how he is the light of the world.
Raeesah – We chose to talk to you today about Advent as at this
special time we are preparing for the Saviour’s birth. We hope you
enjoyed this presentation about Advent and we hope you like our
posters. Thank you.
Freya – Good morning everyone. Today we would like to tell you about
the life of our class Saint – Maximillian Kolbe. His feast day is on the
14th August and he is the patron Saint of prisoners, families and
journalists.
Aine – Maximilian Kolbe was born in Poland in January 1894. He joined
the Franciscan order when he was a teenager and he studied to
become a Priest. It was at this point that he decided to add Mary to his
name.
Ieuan – He was captured by the Germans in 1941 and he got taken to a
concentration camp. One of the prisoners escaped, so the German
soldiers decided to take 10 prisoners out at random to starve. One man
begged to stay as he had a wife and family. Kolbe listened to this and
he stepped in to take the man’s place. He gave up his life so the other
man could live.
Tegan – Kolbe survived for 10 days in starvation along with three
others, but was eventually given a lethal injection by a doctor. The date
of his death was August 14th 1941.
Alfie – It has been so interesting to learn about the life of our class
Saint. I learnt how he saved a man’s life by giving up his own. We will
all remember his story and he has inspired us to live like him. Thank
you.
Sophie H – Good morning – today we are going to tell you about the
Christian creation story because this was an interesting topic for us and
we feel that it brought us all closer to God.
Gabriella – This topic helped us to develop spiritually because it
showed us how hard God worked to create this beautiful world for us
and it filled us with awe and wonder.
Erin – We learned about which order the world was created in and how
powerful our God is. Here Olivia is holding up a piece of artwork which
a member of our class made to represent the Creation Story
Olivia – This picture shows the God’s wonderful creation. You can see a
lot of aquatic animals such as octopi and fish. The seas, sky, clouds and
birds can also be seen.
Bobby – As you can see, Erin is holding a model of the wonderful world
that God took six days to create. On the seventh day he rested. We
hope you have enjoyed our presentation. Thank you.
Emma – Good morning. Today we would like to talk to you about some
of the miracles that Jesus performed. We will explain about what the
miracles have taught us about Jesus and we will also show you some of
the work we produced.
Molly – We chose to talk about the miracles because we were very
interested to find out about the great miracles that Jesus performed.
We were brought closer to God because this topic showed us that with
God’s help anything can be done. This helps us to develop spiritually
because it shows us how powerful God can be.
John – In the story of the feeding of the five thousand, Jesus takes five
loaves of bread and two fish and shares them amongst 500 people with
12 baskets left. I like this miracle because it shows that anything is
possible.
Matthew – In the healing of the woman with a haemorrhage, a woman
has been bleeding inside and she believes that if she touches Jesus’
cloak then she would be healed. So she did exactly that. Jesus spotted
her doing it and he heals her for her faith. This miracles shows that if
we are faithful then we shall receive what we ask for.
Luca – I will be telling you about the healing of the demonics. In this
story Jesus heals two people with demons in them. Jesus banishes the
demons from the men and they are so grateful for what Jesus has done
for them.
Alice – What we found most interesting about the miracles topic is that
Jesus performed all of the miracles for people in real life. The miracle
that we found most interesting is the Resurrection. This is because it is
amazing how the power of God enabled Jesus to show he was the Son
of God by resurrecting from the dead. Thank you for listening.
