Soft/Muted Woman - Looking Stylish

!
The Soft/Muted Woman!
!
You are neither a Light type nor a Deep type. You may describe your own colouring as
'mousy'. You will have neither very blonde nor the darkest of brown hair. Your eyes will
vary from brown to hazel, grey green and blue grey. Your overall look is muted and rich.
Their overall look is blended, with no great contrast between the hair, eyes and skin.
!
Colour selections!
The best look for you is a blended look. Try using blue under navy or rust under brown.
Avoid extremes of contrast, i.e. black or navy and white next to the face. Use neutrals
ranging from off white to charcoal grey. Use soft mid-range colours to rescue obvious very
light or very dark colours.!
You excel in blended tones throughout an outfit rather than high contrast. Fabrics that are
'stonewashed' and have a slightly faded appearance can look very expensive on you.
Bright neon colours like royal blue and lime green will look less expensive than, say, a
denim or periwinkle blue and moss or jade green.!

BEST COLOURS!

Beige, brown, tortoiseshell, soft grey, dusky pastels, brushed metals.!

Jewellery!
!
Creamy pearls, muted stones and enamels, brushed metals, textured metals and mixed

!
Makeup!
!
The soft woman’s makeup should never be too obvious, it should blend with her soft
colouring. However, the soft woman does need lipstick to finish her look. Choose eye
liners in soft grey, coffee or a soft green, and go for grey or brown mascara rather than
black. Eyeshadows should be in soft versions of browns, cocoa, gold, smoke and faded
greens and blues.!
!
Your lipstick should be in a dusty rose, soft peach or a natural nude which is close to your
lip colour. You can wear red for the evening, but avoid a bright vivid red.!

Muted/Soft Neutrals!
!
Soft White, Stone, Greyed Green, Charcoal Blue, Navy, Cocoa, Rose Brown!
!
These are the most useful colours you will wear and form the basis of most wardrobes.
They are useful for items that need to last a long time and are timeless in terms of
fashion. Depending on your lifestyle, the following items are where you should invest the
bulk of your clothing budget: coats, suits, jackets, belts, handbags, watch strap, briefcase,
shoes, and boots.!
!
If you’re not sure about what to put alongside a ‘colour’, a neutral is a safe option as
they’re useful for co-ordinating an outfit.!
!
Remember, neutrals can ‘rescue’ an item you don’t want to get rid of, such as those that
are not ideal for you:!
!
Sharp, bright clear colours (e.g. fuchsia pink, pure white, emerald green, scarlet) are not
the best shades and will not be flattering next to your face. If you like these shades or if
they are fashionable simply team them with a softer colour next to your face, e.g. a blouse,
scarf or jewellery. Alternatively, keep a low neckline when wearing a brighter shade to keep
the colour a safe distance from your face.!
!
Avoid contrast, and keep your look blended and muted!

How to wear black!
!
Black is not your best colour but we all have it in our wardrobe and it is unrealistic to
expect you to banish it completely. However, you should try to keep it away from your face
- if you are wearing a black dress or coat - make sure it shows your skin and either wear a
necklace or scarf in one of your colours such as a blue grey or muted apricot. !
