About the Orchestra
The Blue Ridge Orchestra is an all-volunteer
ensemble dedicated to engaging Western North
Carolina’s extraordinary music community with
opportunities to perform, listen to, and learn
about great symphonic music.
Led since 2011 by Music Director Milton Crotts,
the orchestra performs in a range of venues
across the region, bringing exceptional music
into the heart of local communities and creating
symphonic experiences of unparalleled intimacy
and excitement.
2015 has brought exciting
opportunities for both Milt,
who will spend the year
teaching at the American
School in Japan, and the
orchestra, which welcomes
aboard Season Conductor
Chuck Taft. A hardworking WNC native,
Chuck also shares his
contagious enthusiasm
and passion for music
with the Reuter Center
Singers and the Givens
Estates Choir, which
he directs.

“I love this orchestra. My
daughter and I have been
coming to BRO concerts since
she was 6 months old and we
come back as often as we can.”
