Italy will warm your heart and soul. Join us on a 12 day journey from Rome to Venice taking in all the major must-see attractions, and along the way we’ll take you to some beautiful hidden gems. Day 1 & 2 Day 4 Day 5 & 6 ROME Day 7 After being met at the airport by your tour leader and transferred to your hotel you’ll enjoy an afternoon guided tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum. On Day 2 we’ll explore the Vatican on a guided tour and then the rest of the day is at leisure. Meals: 2 breakfasts & 1 dinner Overnight: Villa San Lorenzo Maria or similar Day 3 •11 nights accommodation •Personal driver and tour leader Enjoy a leisurely start to the day before we begin our journey along the backroads to stunning Tuscany – a picturesque village known for its cuisine and wines. Today’s highlight will be exploring the Roman thermal bath town of Bagno Vignoni. Meals: Breakfast Overnight: Relais Il Chiostro Di Pienza or similar •Full breakfast daily, two lunches and four evening meals PIENZA – MONTALCINO – SIENA – PIENZA Today we travel further into Tuscany and visit the famous hilltop towns of Montalcino and Siena. Visit a winery and taste the famous high quality red Montalcino wines before travelling to the medieval Siena – the second most important town in Tuscany. Here you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the town including its stunning cathedral. Meals: Breakfast & lunch Overnight: Relais Il Chiostro Di Pienza or similar ROME – BAGNO VIGNONI – PIENZA Inclusions •Wine tastings in Montalcino and Cinque Terre PIENZA – SAN GIMIGNANO – FLORENCE This morning we leave Pienza and continue north to the iconic San Gimignano, otherwise known as the Medieval Manhattan because of its towers. The town is well known for its saffron and Vernaccia white wine. Later we make our way to Florence to enjoy a walking tour of the city including a visit to Galleria dell’Accademia which houses Michelangelo’s masterpiece, David. In the afternoon enjoy a cooking class in Tuscany. Day 6 is at leisure and a visit to the Uffizzi with its famous Renaissance paintings is highly recommended. Meals: 2 breakfasts & lunch Overnight: Hotel Pendini or similar •Parmigiano cheese factory visit •Cooking class in Tuscany •Entrances to sites/ activities FLORENCE – CINQUE TERRE – SESTRI LEVANTE Today we travel to Liguria region which is mostly known for its famous Pesto Genovese sauce. We’ll then visit the UNESCO World Heritage site, Cinque Terre villages and find out more about wine making in this region. We’ll also have a chance to taste its famous Sciacchetra wine. •Local guided tour of Colosseum, Roman Forum, Vatican, Florence with Galleria dell’Accademia visit, Siena, Venice with San Marco Basilica •Cinque Terre flexi pass •Lake Garda cruise •Venice water taxi transfer Meals: Breakfast, & dinner Overnight: Grand Hotel Villa Balbi or similar travelmanagers.com.au/GailHughes | travelmanagers.com.au/SallyBarron Day 8 Day 9 & 10 SESTRI LEVANTE – PORTOFINO – PARMA – LAKE GARDA PARMA – LAKE GARDA – VERONA - VENICE After breakfast we head further north to famous Portofino – loved by the rich and famous. We then travel to Emilia – Romagna region known for its cuisine (lasagne originated here) and visit the parmiggiano cheese factory in Parma. This morning we’ll travel along the back roads to the beautiful Lake Garda for a highlight cruise. The next day we leave Lake Garda and travel to romantic Verona where you’ll enjoy free time before we continue to Venice. Meals: Breakfast & dinner Overnight: Hotel Verdi or similar Meals: 2 breakfasts Overnight: Hotel Serenella (in Sirmione) or similar Hotel Gorizia ala Valigia or similar Day 11 & 12 VENICE This morning enjoy a guided tour of Venice and San Marco Basilica, one of the finest examples of Italian – Byzantine architecture. The rest of the day is at leisure to get lost in Venice! On Day 12 our tour sadly comes to an end after breakfast. Meals: 2 breakfasts & farewell dinner Overnight: Hotel Gorizia ala Valigia or similar *Terms & Conditions: Price is per person twin share and land only.
