Start in St James’s Square at 10.30am. A tour of the town and across the river to look at the Inns and Brewery that sprang up around this important bridge on the Great North Road. Starting at 10.00am at Marton le Moor Meeting Room, HG4 5AT. The walk is 4 miles long, (7 km) lasting about 2½ hours with a breakpoint after 2 miles, and with no obstacles, fences or stiles, although the tracks will be rutted and potentially muddy. We will be exploring the history of the village and its parish to give an insight into our community’s past. The walk will be led by local resident Ken Harrison. Walk off your Sunday lunch with a 3 mile (5km) walk in the footsteps of the Romans. The start is at 2.00pm from the Ship Inn at Aldborough.
