Bulletin Monday January 23, 2017 PLEDGE: Good morning teachers and students. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. “I pledge allegiance to the flag, of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” Please remain standing for a moment of silence. Thank you. You may be seated. There will be no Benchmark testing today. Tomorrow night the Band is sponsoring a Spirit Night at Chipotle restaurant in Mt. Dora from 5:00-9:00pm. Please come out and support our TMS band. Attention students going on the Marine Lab fieldtrip: This is a reminder to please get your paperwork and the balance of your fieldtrip money to Mr. Rogers in room 413 as soon as possible. If you have not received your paperwork from your Patriot Block teacher please see Mr. Rogers. Wednesday is the last day to donate your books to the SGA book drive. Remember the Patriot Block with the most books donated will earn a Donut King party. Attention students: Each day this week you will be given one question to answer on your own paper in a complete sentence. It will be a literacy related question. On Friday, the AMBASSADORS will turn in these papers to Coach Valenta and or Mrs. Drasheff in the media center during PATRIOT BLOCK ONLY. The Patriot Block with the highest number of quality responses will win a pizza party. Today’s question is this: What does the prefix mono (spelled m-o-n-o) mean? The following YMCA clubs will be meeting this afternoon: Culinary, Drama, Band, Basketball, Color Guard, Step/Dance, and Gaming. To all TMS Patriot students: According to Lake County’s BYOD (Bring your own Device) certain rules have to be followed at all times while on school grounds. When the first bell rings all electronic devices are to be put away either in lockers or binders, and student need to proceed to their class. Keeping your phones in your pants or jacket pockets is NOT considered “Out of Sight, Out of mind”. Also your earphones need to be out of sight during class changes, and you are not to bring your Beats large headphones to school as they too can be confiscated and sent to administration. According to Lake County and TMS rules, it is strictly prohibited to record, display, distribute, and/or, transmit pictures, text/email messages, video’s and audio recordings while on school grounds. Only with electronic communication approval given by school officials,, that means teachers and staff, can take your devices out during class time. It is a Lake County and TMS violation to have your electronic devices out while taking any test or assessment. If these rules are violated in any way, you will be liable for disciplinary actions, either by TMS or you might even receive even criminal penalties if your device is used in a criminal act. If anyone has questions concerning these rules please ask your Patriot Block teacher for clarification, look it up in the Lake County Student handbook, or ask any administrator. Teachers who see you with your devices outside of class have the right to write you a referral and confiscate your phone to be given to the TMS administration for your parents to pick up. Second violation will result in Wednesday school.
