Directions: In Hattiesburg—Exit I-59 at Exit #65 to U.S.98 West (to Columbia). Drive approx.
5 miles—pass the Lake Serene entrances—you will see on the right Pearl River Valley Elect. &
the Lake Serene Medical clinic—move to the left lane. Turn left (south) by Jones Funeral Home
on Cole Road. Drive .7 mile to the Serene Meadows sign on the left—turn left—Suburban
Daylilies is the 3rd house on the left. If you are approaching Hattiesburg from the west on US 98,
go through the Bellevue/SR 589 intersection—continue east, past Canebrake on the left—at the
top of the next hill you will see Jones Funeral Home on the right—turn right on Cole Road and

From Hattiesburg, go US 98 west. As you get into the Lake Serene area, take a left at the East
Gate. Garden is at the second house on the left. If you are approaching Hattiesburg from the
west on US 98, pass Lake Serene (you will see the spillway on your left) and turn right at the
next street.

Directions: From Hattiesburg, travel west on US 98 approx. 13 miles from I-59. Pass
Canebrake—go through the light at the Bellevue intersection, pass the Brett Favre estate, cross
the Black Creek Bridge. After crossing the bridge, take the 2nd road to the left (West Black
Creek Road)—go approx. 1 ½ miles to a stop sign (Old Hwy.24)—go across Old Hwy 24 and
the road becomes Nobles Rd. The Chain home is the 2nd house on the right. 601-325-8419 /

Hwy. 49 S. to Paul B. Johnson State Park Entrance. Turn right off Hwy. 49, and go left at Park
entrance station. Do not go into Park. This is South Lake Road. Go to Stop Sign, take left on
Churchwell Road and continue until you see daylily sign at house. Approx. 5.5 miles from Hwy.
49. Directions from I 59 South: Take Purvis Exit and go left to App Slade Road take right and
go to end of road, take left on Churchwell Road house is next driveway on left.

Hattiesburg. When you see the Oloh sign, turn left on Old Hwy 24. Go ½ mile, and The Patch is

off Hwy. 98. Take first left crossing dam and remain on this street which circles lake. In less
than a mile you will come to a 3-way stop sign. Go straight one block pass small docks turn right
to 5 North Heron Cove.

Directions: Driving from Highway 49 North and South, turn onto Hardy Street at the
intersection at USM and continue toward downtown Hattiesburg. Travel down Hardy St. and
turn right on 2nd Ave., at the intersection across from the cemetery. Continue on 2nd Ave. past
the Sacred Heart High School on the left. Bear to the left and the street becomes Southern Ave.
Continue on Southern Ave. past Sacred Heart Catholic Church on the left, cross Walnut Street
continue past Court St. Methodist Church on your right, crossing Bay Street continue until you
intersect with Williams St. Turn left on Williams St. one block to East Laurel Avenue. Turn left
on East Laurel Ave., and 820 is on your right on the corner, a white house, named:
“The Corners.”

THE TRUMAN ROBERTS MEMORIAL DAYLILY GARDEN – Open Daily
Petal Civic Center, Petal, MS. Planted by the Hattiesburg Area Daylily Society, and supported
by the City of Petal to honor the life of Truman Roberts, long-time resident and businessman of
Petal. He was enthusiastic and dedicated to growing daylilies and The Hattiesburg Area Daylily
Society. Directions: Enter Petal from Hwy. 11. Drive to the intersection where Hardee’s is on
the left. Turn right, and the Civic Center is on your right several blocks ahead. Enter Petal from
Hattiesburg River Avenue, cross Leaf River and continue into Petal. The Civic Center will be on
your left.
LAKE TERRACE CONVENTION CENTER – Open Daily - Directions: The
Lake Terrace Convention Center is located on Hwy. 49 just north of Hattiesburg, just before you
go under the Interstate. Going north out of Hattiesburg, it is on the right just after you pass
McDonalds on the left. Turn to the right at the traffic signal, and go to the left. The garden is on
your left near the flag plaza. The flag plaza was constructed by The Asbury Foundation.
THE GARDENS AT OLLI Open May 29, 3601 Pearl Street. Contact: Brett Harris,
Director – 601-264-2780 www.usm.edu/olli. The Gardens At OLLI are the spacious gardens
surrounding a small lake and the Peck House, the headquarters for the Osher Lifelong Institute at
The University of Southern Mississippi. OLLI offers men and women the opportunity for
stimulating learning experiences, while developing new friendships. All offerings are designed
for individuals 50 or older and are presented by experts in the field, professionals, community
volunteers and OLLI members. OLLI headquarters are located at 3601 Pearl St. in Hattiesburg,
just off the west side of the USM campus. Driving, turn north off Hardy Street onto 38th
Avenue, then right on Pearl Street. The Peck House is the house with the orange slate roof on
your left. Park in the large lot on the left, west of the house.
VFW HALL, DOWNTOWN HATTIESBURG 210 Ronie Street - Open
Daily - The VFW located in downtown Hattiesburg offers easy drive by viewing of mass
planting of Earl Watt's 2015 Mississippi Medallion Plant, “Suburban Nancy Gayle”
STONE COUNTY – PERKINSTON AREA
“COME SEE WHAT’S BLOOMIN,” Open: May 29, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Home of

Hwy. 49 Southbound: Go approx. 6 miles south of Perkinston Jr. College; Take left on East
McHenry Road (near the Pecan House); Drive 5 miles to stop sign; Take right on to City
Road;1st brick house on left (approx. 1/2 mile). Directions: Northbound on Hwy. 49: Go
approx. 3 miles north of Tuxachanie Hiking Trail; Take right on East McHenry Road; Drive 5
miles to stop sign; Take right on to City Road;1st brick house on left (approx. 1/2 mile).
CHISEL RIDGE GARDEN Open: May 29, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

[email protected]. Directions: From Highway 49 in Wiggins go East on Hwy 26 to
“White’s Crossing”, approximately 7 miles, turn South on City Bridge Road and go 3 miles to a
4-way stop, turn left on King Bee Road, then go 1 mile to Paramount Church Road, turn left.
The garden will be 2 miles ahead on left. We are out in the country so enjoy the drive.
PICAYUNE MISSISSIPPI AREA

THE CLINE GARDEN - Picayune, MS – 68 miles South of Hattiesburg on Hwy. I 59

I-59 South out of Hattiesburg, take MS-43 S. at exit, EXIT 4, toward Kiln, Ms. Stay on MS-43
S. for 1.3 miles then turn left onto Caesar Rd. Go .9 miles and turn right onto Rolling Oaks Drive
(note – house before turn has cement lions and horse carriage on front lawn). Go .3 mile and turn
right onto Oaks Lane. Cline garden is first drive way on the right.
