The Company
Pendulum Golf of Georgia LLC is a Georgia based manufacturer of the Pendulum™ Putter,
golf’s most innovative and technologically advanced putter ever introduced to the game of golf.
The Pendulum™ Putter is the work of many years of research and development resulting in 2
US patents and a letter from the United States Golf Association (USGA) stating that it
conforms to the Rules of Golf as established by the USGA and The Royal & Ancient Golf Club
of St. Andrews for worldwide tournament play by professional and amateur players alike.
Our Story
The Pendulum™ Putter was developed following several years of research and design by a
father son team, Bob and Bo Chambers. Bo, a decorated army veteran was involved in the
rescue of American students in Grenada and did not start playing golf until his late twenties.
He got the idea for the Pendulum™ Putter from a vacuum cleaner after he noticed the
effortlessness way it worked and thought if he turned it sideways he could create a putter that
could dramatically improve his game. He sketched a rough design on a napkin and took it to
Bob who built the first prototype from spare parts bought at Home Depot and one of Bo’s old
putters to come up with a rough prototype. Although it didn’t look ready for prime time, it
worked!
Bob was just the man to develop the Pendulum™ Putter, having received an early introduction
to engineering and design from his dad who worked at Oak Ridge Tennessee and Bell Bomber
(designer of the B-29 aircraft) during WWII. In 1972, he formed a company to build machinery
for the paper industry and was instrumental in the design and manufacturer of an automated
timber harvester. He formed PHA South in 1989 and has designed and developed many
automation projects for the textiles, pharmaceuticals, medical, aircraft, and automotive clients.
