SPOTLIGHT
MEET THE GAYLOR FAMILY!
This family of four is in our spotlight this quarter due to their commitment
to the North American International Student Services. They have proudly
welcomed foreign exchange students to their home for years now with Vinh
being their current and longest student yet. Doug and Carolyn got involved in
this program to not only help their students learn the American culture and
language but they also took this opportunity to teach their own children about
diversity and other cultures. The Gaylor’s have so far welcomed 5 students to
their home mainly from China but have also had students from Vietnam. They
try to do monthly outings outside of school with the family to show the students some of the amazing sites of the Pacific Northwest. They have greatly
enjoyed being a part of the NAISS program and will continue to actively be
a part of it. If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about
this opportunity please visit NAISS-US.com.
NEW YEARS SMILE
CLINIC TIP
Well, it’s that time of year again, resolution time! A great (and attainable) goal for everyone, and especially
those in braces, would be to resolve to have excellent dental hygiene! What does this mean?
It starts with a two minute brushing morning and night, and after lunch if possible. Then use your Proxy
(Christmas tree brush) carefully after regular brushing, and floss at least once daily. These cleaning steps
should also be followed up by using a flouride rinse before bedtime. Additional steps could be the use of
“disclosing” tablets to make yourself more aware of how successfully you have brushed. Also using a
“Sonicaire” toothbrush can help make the job easier. And please remember to see your dentist for your
regular check ups and cleanings! Happy, Healthy New Year!

<<Graham tearing up the asphalt
while kart racing.
DR. TRAMMELL:
CHRISTI:
Dr. Trammell and his wife Amber had a busy Fall season with his kids
activities and UO Football games. Graham turned six in December.
Graham has really taken to his kart racing. He started on pavement
and recently gave dirt racing a try to improve his skills over the Winter.
He has had two sprint races (paved road course) and won the main
event once. He has had three dirt oval races and has won the main
event twice. Considering he just started in September, he is off to a
great start and really progressing fast. Evelyn (12 years old) has been
excelling at school and loves it. She contributed tons in her Soccer team
progressing far in this year’s Presidents Cup. She works very hard on
her conditioning and soccer skills and it shows.
Christi had a great Fall, she was busy hiking with friends. For her
birthday, she went to Arizona to visit her mom. She had a great
Thanksgiving with family and friends – they went to the coast to
relax followed by a wonderful Christmas and New Year’s Eve! Happy
2016 everybody!
SHARI:
Shari went to Palm Desert in mid-November for 5 days. It was
wonderful! They were having a cold snap though – only 75 – Brrr!
Thanksgiving was nice – had to miss the Turkey Trot for the first time
in years because of a terrible cold. Dinner was good though. Jack and
Shari enjoyed their annual Christmas Eve party for friends and family
and a very small, quiet dinner the next day. Happy New Year Everyone
ANDREA:
In November Curt, Andrea and the boys went to Florence. Easton had so
much fun ‘looking for gold’ at the beach and swimming in the pool at
Driftwood Shores. They went up in the woods and got their Christmas
tree again this year. Easton had a great time sledding and playing in
the snow. They are going to go tubing at Hoodoo on Christmas Eve.
Porter is 8 months old, he is very busy crawling everywhere and pulling
himself up to get anything he can reach. He has 5 teeth and is working
on getting his 6th tooth. Easton is going to be three on December 28th.
He is very excited about his bucket truck themed birthday party.
It is going to be a fun and exciting holiday season around the Edwards’
house. They are looking forward to spending time with all their friends
and family.
LINDSEY:
STEPH:
Steph is the weirdo of the office (probably for several reasons!)
who loves the rain and clouds! She’s the only one who has been
looking forward to the weather and actually enjoying it and has been
making use of her favorite part of her house: the fireplace! She and
Kyle enjoyed taking advantage of his student-status and getting to
go to lots of football and basketball games at the UofO. Kyle grew up
in Africa and got his first taste of driving in the snow and ice over
the pass on the way to Christmas celebrations in CA with family. He
decided he’s a better roadtrip DJ than driver!
LISA:
Lisa loves the fire that requires a flip of the switch, no kindling,
no stacking firewood and no waiting to get warm !!! Moxie (the cat)
puts on a furry winter coat because Lisa’s husband likes to save
energy, (money) by turning the heat completely off when they’re at
work. It’s the classic he’s too hot/she’s too cold thermostat wars for
the next few months! Lisa is looking forward to a sun break before
spring by making a few long weekend trips south to Nevada and
Arizona.
Lisa’s loves the traditional Thanksgiving BBQ turkey, her dads
specialty, and at Christmas anything goes. This year it was a soup
bar, think salad or taco bar with multiple choices of warm you up
soup. Sensing a theme here? The office got together before the
holidays including spouse’s to celebrate, thanks Dr Trammell, it was
fun to meet everyone’s significant other!
Kelly, Lisa’s daughter will turn 23 in January and Lisa has no
idea how that happened so quickly! This fall Lindsey and Nainoa took Harbor on her first long flight to visit
grandma in Hawaii. They spent a week there enjoying the sun and
visiting family. Harbor really enjoyed the beach and had lots of fun
splashing in the water. For Thanksgiving they spent the evening at
Lindsey’s sister’s house and Harbor couldn’t get enough of the stuffing!
This winter they are looking forward to spending more time with family
for the holidays and to celebrate Harbor’s first birthday in January!
