make it reversible. Chain-2 at beginning of row or round counts as first
sc unless otherwise stated.
Join with sl st unless otherwise
stated.

Ch 4, join with sl st to form a
ring, turn.
Row 1: Ch 2 (counts as first sc on
this and following rows) 5 sc in ring;
join with sl st in 2nd ch of beg ch-2,
turn—6 sc.
Row 2: Ch 2, sc in same sc, 2 sc in
each rem sc; join, turn—12 sc.
Row 3: Ch 2, 2 sc in next sc; *sc in
next sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from *
around; join, turn—18 sc.
Row 4: Ch 2, sc in next sc, 2 sc in
next sc; *sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in
next sc; rep from * around; join,
turn—24 sc.
Row 5: Ch 2, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc
in next sc; *sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in
next sc; rep from * around; join,
turn—30 sc.
Continue in same manner working
an additional sc between inc on each
row until potholder measures approx
61/4 inches in diameter.
Next row: Ch 4 (counts as first dc
and ch-1 sp), sk next sc, dc in next sc;
*ch 1, sk next sc, dc in next sc; rep
from * around working (dc, ch 1, dc)
in same sc for inc in 6 sc as for
previous rows; join in 3rd ch of beg
ch-4, turn.
Next row: Ch 2, sc in each ch and
dc around, turn.
Loop: Ch 8, sl st in next st; turn and
work 10 sc in ch-8 lp.
Fasten off and weave in ends. ■
