Group Discussion
•  Working in your short story groups consider the
following:
•  RR – How did you feel about the stories?
•  Discuss the following, which you will report back to
the class:
•  Provide a brief plot outline of the stories.
•  CR – select 1 passage from each story that you feel is
relevant/significant/striking, etc. Be prepared to
discuss. •  How would you approach teaching the stories? •  That is:
1.  How would you engage the students? I.e.
activities? 2.  Is there a connection between the stories?
3.  What are some issues you would need to address?

Short Stories: Activity
•  Returning to your short story groups – choose one of
the short stories and create a visual method of
analysis.
•  Remember you can take any approach besides
analyzing plot: time, character relationships/
development, reader reaction, etc.
•  If you so wish, you may use both stories and
interconnect them in some way(s).
