(Revised September 22, 2015) Please keep this School-Parent Compact page at home. ) Our Goals for Student Achievement 2015-2016 Mimosa Elementary School-Parent Compact District Goals _ Teachers, Parents & Students “Where Learning Unites Us” The School agrees to: Graduation Rate – 90% of Fulton students will graduate on time College Readiness - 85% of Fulton’s high school seniors will be eligible for admission to a University System of Georgia college or university Career Readiness - 100% graduates will be work-ready certified Provide math learning workshops during the morning to provide math instruction to parents that corresponds to the math skills students are learning in the classroom. Encourage parents to visit classrooms during math blocks to observe and support student learning. The school will provide a parent resource center with books resources and materials for parents to check out ie. math to assist their child at home. School Goals Focus Areas Increase student achievement in mathematics for all students in grades K-5. Master and build fluency with addition and subtraction and be able to explain concepts learned using appropriate math vocabulary in grades K-2. Students in grade 3-5 will demonstrate a passing rate in math on the Georgia Milestones assessment and develop mastery and fluency with multiplication and division as well as fraction equivalence. Parents agree to: Be actively engaged in my student’s education by attending parent math workshops, monitoring homework assignments and projects, and utilizing resources provided by the school to support my student. Provide real world opportunities outside of school for my student(s) to utilize math skills such as estimating cost at the grocery store, counting change when shopping, calculating mileage on trips, and determining percentages when shopping. Visit the Parent Resource Center to “check out” books and materials to use at home with their child to help them in the areas of Math, Science and Literacy. Students agree to: Accept responsibility for their learning by keeping a data notebook where they set goals, track progress on math standards and communicate their progress to teachers and parents. Apply the math learned in school to real world scenarios. Practice ELA, Math skills, and GA Milestones prep by using recommended and approved websites, i.e. USA Test Prep, BrainPOP, and Study Island as well as parent resource materials. Actively seek support when experiencing difficulty with math standards during class assignments and on homework.
