HEADLINE Prayer of Easter Hope Dear Father, When we have lost someone we love, the world seems very dark. Sometimes we might feel that our world has ended, and it’s hard to turn round and glimpse any light ahead. But you, Lord, know all about that, and you care. You sent Jesus to overcome death and lead us into the light of his forgiveness and freedom - to new and eternal life. Help us Lord, like Mary, to turn away from the darkness death wants to scare us with, and to reach out to you. Help us to take courage, strength and confidence from the reality of Jesus’ resurrection. He is alive and we are his. There is nothing to fear. All shall be well. Hallelujah. Amen. Annual meetings Our annual meetings take place on April 26th at Mappleborough church. If you would like to represent the congregation on the PCC or DCC please find the nomination forms at the back of church or speak to a church Warden. We need two DCC members for each church and one PCC member from each church. We also need deputy church wardens! Deadline for nominations is Sunday 23rd April. Men’s Breakfast Guest speaker Khalid Hussain He started life in the simple world of a Kashmiri village. Here, each day was the same as ones gone before. Then one day, his parents announced that he is to go and live with relatives in England. They hoped for him to have a better life. Little did they know! We are taken on a journey with the boy as he becomes man in the newly developing multi-cultural world of the 1970s. We are given a glimpse into his life lived against the grain. With him, we encounter John Steinbeck, Bruce Springsteen and much more besides. We learn about his community as it becomes a part of the British landscape.
