International Credit
Union Day has been
celebrated on the third
Thursday of October
since 1948. This day is
recognized to reflect
upon the credit union
movement’s history and to
promote its achievements.
It is a day to honor those
who have dedicated their
lives to the movement,
recognize the hard work of
those working in the credit
union industry and show
members our appreciation.
The ultimate goal is
to raise awareness about
the great work that credit
unions are doing around
the world and to promote
the credit union difference
of people helping people, and people before profits.
As has been our custom in the past, Media Members will celebrate
International Credit Union Day at both the Center City and SPP
locations. Everyone who stops by that day will receive a free gift and
soft pretzel while supplies last. We will also be holding several drawings
throughout the day which will give you a chance to win a great prize.
Our Market Street office will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. and our
SPP office will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Every year on
November 11th,
we honor these
military service men and
women for the sacrifices
they have made. Veterans Day, which
officially became a legal holiday on June
1, 1954 to honor American veterans of all
wars, is observed by showing gratitude
and appreciation for our veterans and
the commitment they have made to
protect our country, and our way of life.
Observed in cities and towns throughout
the U.S., one of the traditional Veterans
Day tributes is a wreath-laying ceremony
at the Arlington National Cemetery. In
addition, the week of November 1117 is now known as National Veterans
Awareness Week and is observed
accordingly. As you go about your daily
life, keep in mind that “freedom is not
free.” Take a moment to thank and
appreciate the selfless warriors who have
given so much for our country and its
people.
