June 8, 2009 Question # 1 Hello everyone, yes, I am James Monroe, one of the most notable and famous historical American figure. I am the 6th official president of the United States of America, who is well known for the Monroe Doctrine. I illustrated and delivered that drove the European nations out from their attempts of further reinforcing their country’s army and economy. I was born on the year April 28th1758, in a small woody populated area called: Westmoreland county. I was born to Spence Monroe (My Father), who had owned a fine estate for working as a planter close by to our house. Eliza Jones Monroe (My Mother), was an adorable lady whom I loved and cared for dearly along with my siblings and my father. My parents were branched down from Scottish and Welsh ancestors. I was born into an average working middle class family. I am married to a women called: Elizabeth Kortright, as we had three children, named: Eiza Kortright Monroe, James Spence Monroe, and Maria Hester Monroe. As a young boy, I was strongly influenced to give respect for my country - the events that were occurring during my childhood lifetime such as the deadly and perilous revolutionary war that took place. At that period of time, different thoughts that I had were revolving around me and it certainly could not be explained in a one paragraph statement. Often, the peers and students acknowledged me in my school. In addition, I had depth in understanding the mathematical concepts that were covered in class and Latin was one of the languages I had learned to speak comfortably in the school of Campbell town Academy. This school was located in an area throughout the region Washington Parish. Starting from a young age- eleven through sixteen, I received good education until I joined the continental army as a soldier under the command of George Washington. I later became a student under Thomas Jefferson and studied Law. As an adult, I was later elected as the minister of France and later became the U.S senate. He was elected as president 2 consecutive times in a row, both in 1816 and in 1820 and also served as the governor of Virginia 1799 - 1802 as he also served as a diplomat. James Monroe, serves as an undoubtedly significant figure for the result that had saved the United States of America in positioning itself as a strong nation for it has set a solid boundary to event prevent the greatest empires of European nations to further colonize the lands of Latin America. Question #2: My historical question that I was to research was: Question: What were some of the important impacts and the significance of the Monroe Doctrine? This question interested me in a lot of ways. First, this particular question was brought up because I personally thought that by explaining the causes/ crucial impacts that the Monroe doctrine had brought, I believed that some of the reasons of how the biggest ruling nations that once dominated Europe became a completely changed nation that would look upon the United States of America who were once lacking power to a lot of the nations that were known across Europe. The other fact that I chose this question was that I thought the Monroe doctrine had changed the United States of America into a whole different nation dating to timeline back in the 19th, 20th century as well as the present day 21st century. I believe the Monroe doctrine played a major role that prevented some nations to rule Latin America and the United States of America. The impacts of the Monroe doctrine also answered some of the most crucial questions in history, and of how many different political figures of the U.S used the Monroe doctrine to change dangerous events from occurring. By answering this type of question, the facts of how parts of the globe (mainly Europe, the Americas), and how many countries changed because of this single doctrine can be revealed. (In what cases was the doctrine used by other political figures of the United States of America in certain events in the past - present?) Question #3: My point of view on the Monroe Doctrine, is that the doctrine was the most prominent “cure” that saved the nations of the Americas including the United States of America from the dominant rule of the most powerful European nations gathered at that period of time. Although there were discordant political bodies that had feared the Monroe Doctrine would cause divisive acts from the standpoint view of the Americas concerning its limited power when the speech was made, it is interesting of how the big globalized nations had backed up away from writings in the document. The Doctrine was mainly issued to the Russians at that period of time who were trying expanding its fecund trading ties with the Latin American countries. During that period of time, nations such as Spain were also high in seeking to regain their lost colonies in Latin America. As United States of America were falling into concerns leading to big concerns of going into war with some of the most powerful nations during the time, the Monroe doctrine was to be issued as it proved that with Britain backing up the Americas with the great Royal navy ships, this certainly interdicted the European nations from disturbing the recovering lands of the Americas. Although the British navy ships had wanted to keep its strong ties economically with the countries in of Latin America, John Quincy Adams came into play as he put the question to allying with Britain to an end. The Monroe doctrine really came into effect after the navy built to assure that Latin Americas was to be well protected by the United States of America. However, the immediate causes came into affect as the European nations were backed off despite the power that a nation such as Spain and Russia did not go with their plans- to strengthen their basis economically, and to capture the Americas, which was their long-term plan. The colonies in the Americas saw the U.S as a withstanding nation who they heavily relied on to shield them acting like a host nation with its standing army. The Monroe doctrine along with John Quincy Adams in this case, Quincy Adams had made a smart but a risky decision when stated that the United States of America was not strongly tie with the British because of its hostility interests in the Western Hemisphere. The Latin Americas were one body, as the U.S and James Monroe strongly believed if one Latin America nations were attacked, the start of a war would begin. The Monroe doctrine had later been used to prevent colonization of the Latin America states, as Theodore Roosevelt had warned the British to keep their hands off Venezuela as if the Venezuela was harmed in any way, it would provoke war. President Kennedy, in 1962 had also played a role in introducing the Monroe doctrine- using it for justification to immediately warn Russia that a war would be declared if the stationed missiles were not removed from Cuba. From this, the Monroe doctrine was issued to keep other nations from harming Latin America States, and has a major impact on the World today for saving the nations of America from the Europeans as the doctrine will be issued to save the lands of the Americas from other nations in the future. The Monroe Doctrine was the “cure” to the great living nation as it lives on to be the most powerful nation in the world. Question #4: I solved this question, by going through various primary sources and pictures that described the events that were taking place at certain period of times when conflicts arose between the European and the American nations. Sources such as maps, came in handy because it had illustrated the different situations the naval army forces were in at different times. I have used primary sources such as biographies and maps that informed me what the relations between the different Latin American and the European countries had had. Secondary sources such as images and information articles were also used in my research paper, but I was not heavily dependent on it. (Refutation) The Monroe Doctrine has been considered to be a immediate random act that was proposed during the 1800s, but strong results show us that not all of the doctrine was issued to show the immediate- cause/effect deals. The Monroe doctrine is still in existence in the long run that changed many outcomes of different events in history.
