Experienced Cuban Powered Paraglider pilot Luis will attempt to re-create the spirit of the historical
flight of Domingo Rosillo del Toro, first pilot to fly from Key West to Havana in a Morane-Saulnier
monoplane on May 17, 1913. You are invited to take part in this event. The program surrounding
this commemoration will follow soon.
This event is organised in collaboration with the Club de Aviacion de Cuba (CAC).

“Four Points by Sheraton” was inaugurated in June 2016 and is the first in
Cuba to operate under a U.S. brand since the 1959 revolution. The hotel is
undergoing major revamping and will be ready to host our group in October.

You will enjoy the cars and exchange with the drivers. They will explain how
they maintained the cars in
working condition during all
these years. Drive through the
Old Havana. Learn about the
roots of Cuban culture and
traditions at UNESCO World
Heritage sites, Cathedrals and
buildings dating back to early
17th Century. Cuba is arguably the
most musical country in the
world.
A visit to the Tropicana Casino to meet the dancers will be the highlight of this
first day in Havana.
Day 2: Sunday October 9
Transport to Havana Vieja ‘Vedado’ for the day. Become familiar with Cubans' daily
activities through personal visits during which we will exchange on North American
culture, traditions, history, and life styles. Visit to the Bodeguita Del Medio and
Hemingway’s favorite bar, La Floridita. Musicians are in every corner to introduce
you to the Cuban music and dance. Lunch at a Paladar in town.
Day 3: Monday October 10
This day’s program will include educational
activities outside of Havana, in a small
working-class town of San Francisco de
Paula where Hemingway chose to have a home (visit). Lunch in a Farm “Finca”
where you will find more than 110 species of fruit trees and share moments
with the elders staying at this farm.
Continue on to Kawama to enjoy an afternoon with members of the Club de
Aviacion de Cuba (CAC headquarters) sharing our knowledge, enjoying great
aviation related activities and great camaraderie. Beach BBQ party with CAC
members and family.
Day 4: Tuesday October 11
Early rise! Today we will travel to UNESCO World Heritage Site: the western
province of Pinar del Rio, a landscape of prehistoric looking flat-top mountains
or “mogotes”, tobacco plantations, caves and rivers. We will meet with the
workers of a traditional vegetable and cigar farm of the Viñales Valley located
in the mountainous region.
Day 5: Wednesday October 12: Havana to Key West
8:30 Breakfast and flight preparation.
Transfer to La Habana José Mari International airport
