Born in Mapleton, he lived in
this area an bis life. He retired from general farming in
1959 and was a devoted mem·
ber ol the Cburch of Christ's
Disciples at Mapleton.
He is survived by two sons,
Lewis ol Kingsmill and George
of Ingersoll~ one sister, Mrs.
Harold (Mabel) Wolfe of Windsor; three grandchildren and
two great~randchildren.
Resting at tbe H. A. Kebbel
Funeral Home, Aylmer, where

On June 3 , T908 , Herbert M.. Brown and Mabel F •. Thomson were
mar rfed at the home o-f the bride ' s parents , Mr . and Mr s . J . D. Thomson ,
who wer e pi·oneer residents of Ncrrth Yarmouth . The groom ' s parents,
Mr. and Mr s . L. M. Brown , were ear ly sett~ers of South Dorchester.
They have two sons , Lewis, Kfngsmill , and George , Ing ersoll .
Anothe r son , Jcrhn , passed away in 1941 . They hav e three grandchildren,
David , Dr. John and Rosal1e Brown and one great- granddaughter,

Grace {McCracken) Free . They and their family James & Karen celebrated by motor home to a pleasant t hree week trip to the East Coast
of Canada travelling through Quebec, Prince Edward Island, New
Brunswick & Nov~ Scotia returning home by the United States through
Maine, Bew Hampshire , Vermont , New Yor k & Buffalo .
Then again, on Se pt 20 th, 1975 on account of selling their
farm to Mr . & Mrs . Carl Stover & moving to 8 Dunwich Drive,
St. Thomas, Ontario, they en j oyed a wiener roast held in their
honour at the residence of Mr. & Mrs . Max Zavitz as a farewel l
party from the community . They were t he recipients of a beautiful
artifact .
