AMERICAN LEGION MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
IN HONOR AND MEMORY OF TERRY B THORNTON, FRED M DAVENPORT, AND
JEAN JOHNSON
The Arthur E Stears Post #223 of the American Legion sponsors three scholarships awarded
annually to graduating seniors of Constantine High School. Any graduating senior may
apply. To be considered for a scholarship, application must be made through the school.
Applications will be evaluated by a committee of the legion post. Selection is made based on
the committee decision consistent with the interest the legion has in patriotism and
community service. The scholarship award of $500 is made to the chosen recipient when
they have completed the registration process for their chosen school for further education.

B) Attach an autobiographical statement of our own composition. Include the following
information in it. This essay should be 250 words or less.

2. Reasons for applying for this scholarship

4. A statement on how patriotism and community service has played a part in your
life.
