Do you pride yourself on knowing how to make some great tasting chili? Do you
enjoy having a ton of fun and winning prizes for doing it? We want you to join us for
our Chili Cook-Off and share your winning flavor while helping the athletes at
Lincoln-Way East High School. Your generous participation in this chili competition
will help a great cause and will showcase your great cooking skills for one and all to
savor. Dig out your favorite recipe and start cooking!
Official Athletic Booster board members will award $100 to the first prize winner,
$50 to the second prize winner, and $25 to the third prize winner. A special prize will
also be awarded to the
CHILI “TRUE BLUE” CHAMPION
as selected via “People’s Choice”

Contestants need to be at LW East High School cafeteria by 10:30 a.m. on
Saturday, March 4, 2017 to set up.
Is Your Chili
Chili must be prepared in advance from raw ingredients compiled by the
contestants. In other words, no mixes, no Hormel©.

Chili may be made with or without meat or beans.
Contestants should bring a minimum of 2 gallons of chili, keeping in mind that
the more you bring, the more people will be able to taste it and the more
potential votes you will receive for the People’s Choice Award. One table will be
provided to each contestant. You may tastefully decorate your table if you choose.
One cup needs to be available for tasting by the judges.
2 oz. samples will be sold to the public for .50 each. Minimum of 10 for $5.00
A complete list of ingredients must be available for each entry.
Contestants must be willing to eat their own chili.
All contestants must provide their own heating apparatus; crock pot; camping stove
or canned fuel (i.e. Sterno), AND extension cords. In addition, all contestants are
responsible for supplying their own serving utensils. You must bring a food
thermometer so temperature of chili stays at a safe 160 degrees.
Lincoln-Way East Athletic Boosters will provide cups and spoons for samples.
Contestants may bring a small cooler with beverages for themselves.
Chili may be dispensed to the public only after judging samples have been
collected.
Each contestant will be assigned a contestant’s number by the chief scorekeeper.
Winners will be announced by 2:30 p.m.
Each contestant will be responsible for overseeing and cleaning up their area at the
end of the day and removing all items from the area before 4:00 p.m.. No items shall be allowed
to remain after the close of the Chili Cook-Off.
The decisions of the chief judge shall be final.

FREE registration if you register by February 8th!
Send in your registration form and payment by February 1st and we will
reimburse your registration fee when you arrive at the event.

By entering the chili cook-off you are agreeing to follow all Chili Cook-Off
rules. Anyone not following these rules will be disqualified and will forfeit the
