1. What is Mobile Based Collections (IMPS)?
Mobile Based Collections / Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) is an instant interbank electronic fund transfer service
through mobile phones. IMPS facilitates customers to use mobile instruments as a channel for accessing their banks
accounts and remitting funds there from in a secured manner with immediate confirmation features.
2. What is MMID? How do I get it?
MMID stands for ‘Mobile Money Identifier’. It is a 7 digit MMID unique code issued to you by your bank to enable you to
avail of IMPS when you have to receive money. You will have different MMID's for different accounts; however, all
these can be linked to a single mobile number registered with DBS Bank.
3. Do I, as a receiver, need to have a bank account to use IMPS?
Yes, you need to have a bank account with DBS Bank to use IMPS.
4. Is my payer also required to register for IMPS?
Yes. Your Payer has to have his/her mobile number registered with his/her respective bank in which the account is
hosted. Your payer should also have a valid 7 digit MMID provided by his/her bank. Just as you have, your payer will also
have a unique MMID for each bank account linked to his/her mobile number.
5. What details will my payer need to transfer money to me?
Your payer will need either your
• 10 digit mobile number and
• MMID/ IFSC Account Number to transfer money to your DBS bank account.
OR your payer will need your:
• Bank Account number with DBS and
• DBS IFSC Code to transfer money to your DBS bank account.
6. Is there any limit on the value of transactions when I am receiving money using IMPS?
DBS Bank has not put any limit on the amount of money that you can receive using IMPS. However, the payer’s bank
may put a limit on the maximum amount of funds that can be transferred.
7. Which banks are enabled on IMPS?

8. What are the cut off times for IMPS?
There are no cut off times for IMPS. You can receive money 24x7x365 any day any time including Sundays and
bank holidays.
9. How long does it take for the money to be credited in my account?
If the transaction is successful, the money will be credited to your account immediately. The funds transfer happens at a
speed of an SMS.

10. How will I know that the money has been credited to my account?
You will receive a SMS from DBS Bank confirming the credit to your account on your registered mobile phone number
instantly when the transaction has been completed successfully.
11. What are the charges for availing IMPS?
Presently, there are no charges by DBS for using this facility.
12. Can I receive money using a mobile number other than one registered with the bank?
You can receive money using a mobile number that has been registered with DBS bank only.
13. What happens in case the payer enters a wrong beneficiary mobile number for remittance?
Beneficiary details required for making a successful remittance are mobile number and MMID. The transaction will get
declined in case anyone of these two numbers is erroneous and transaction gets reversed instantly.
14. Where do I register a complaint with regard to the IMPS transactions?
You can register a complaint by calling your respective Relationship Manager. Your query will be resolved within 7
working days.
